92 Someone Is Setting Me Up

Catherine broke down. She didn’t want to see anyone or eat anything. She curled up under her blanket and cried until her eyes were swollen.

But when she saw Rachel, Catherine started to cry again and called out to Rachel sorrowfully.

Rachel’s heart ached for Catherine, who was like a daughter to her. Now that Catherine had lost her child, Rachel was sad too.

She tried to distract Catherine with another topic. “Cathy, we’ve caught the people who hurt you. I’ll take you to them so you can teach them a lesson.”

Upon hearing her words, Catherine slowly poked her head out of her blanket. Seeing that Rachel’s eyes were as swollen as hers, she nodded silently.

“Change your clothes. I’ll wait for you at the door.”

Rachel patted Catherine’s head. “We’ll take our anger out on them!”

Rachel prepared some clean clothes and placed them aside for Catherine, who got up to change. After washing her face in the bathroom, she walked out of the room.

Harry was the driver. On the way there, Rachel held Catherine’s hand tightly. She tried to distract Catherine by telling her random, unrelated stories so she wouldn’t drown in the sorrow of losing her

own child.

Rachel could tell that Catherine was very shaken as Catherine responded to her perfunctorily.

After arriving at their destination and seeing Tony’s disgusting face, Catherine started to hyperventilate. Rachel immediately tried to calm her down.

Knowing that it was simply the reaction of a victim to her abuser, she comforted Catherine. “Cathy, he won’t ever hurt you again, so don’t be scared. I’ll kill them for you.”

Rachel hugged Catherine. Slowly, Catherine began to calm down. She glared at Tony with eyes filled

with hatred.

Seeing how much Rachel cared about Catherine, Tony regretted it deeply.

Who told him that the Zimmerman family abandoned Catherine? And who said that Catherine was pregnant with an illegitimate child?

Someone had set him up! Seeing Rachel’s attitude and Harry’s expression, he realized the Zimmerman family cared about Catherine more than they did about Harry.

With his mouth covered, all he could do was whimper. He had been beaten up countless times in the last two days until he was barely breathing. He was sure that they were going to beat him to death.

Rachel picked up a wooden plank from the ground and handed it to Catherine. “Cathy, hit him as hard as you like. I’ll cover for you if he dies.”

Catherine accepted the wooden plank that was as thick as a human wrist and bashed it into Tony’s skull. She used up almost all her energy in that one hit. The plank fell to the ground as she stumbled back into Harry’s arms.

Tony whimpered in pain. His face was covered in blood. Harry had even blinded one of his eyes.

It seemed like he had something to say. Harry removed the gag from Tony’s mouth. “What else do you have to say?”

Now that he was able to breathe and speak, Tony quickly said, “Someone told me that the Zimmerman family abandoned you and said that you were pregnant with an illegitimate child.

“I only targeted you because I thought I was doing the Zimmerman family a favor. Someone set me up!”

Everyone’s face hardened. Rachel was especially agitated. “What did you say?”
