The nanny was on leave yesterday, and she came to work at noon today. She couldn't possibly know about what happened last night.

Martha was startled, realizing she misspoke, and hastily made an excuse, "Well, I heard it from Skyler."

"My mom told you about this?"

Martha stammered, "Skyler was in a bad mood today, so, she just talked to me more than usual, mentioned this incident casually, and I remembered it."

Skyler didn't like Celeste, but this was the Campbell family's private business. How could she possibly discuss this with a nanny?

She’s lying!

Celeste couldn't be that stupid, leaving the box of medicine she took days ago on the table.

Upon realizing this, Liam's face instantly darkened.

"Martha, you can go to the HR department tomorrow to get your salary, don't bother coming back after that."

Martha was dumbfounded, "Sir, are you firing me?"

Liam cast a frosty glance at her, "You can tender your resignation, and I'll have HR compensate you with half a year's salary. That should tide you over while you seek new employment."

Martha panicked, realizing Liam wasn't joking.

Hastily, she said, "Sir, you can't fire me. Skyler arranged for me to take care of you. I didn't do anything wrong. You don't have the right to fire me!"

"Don't have the right?" Liam scoffed as if he'd heard a joke, then coldly questioned, "Martha, your file is at the company. You're a Quantum employee. What's the problem with me firing my own employee?"

At this moment, Liam's expression was strikingly similar to Celeste's.

Martha trembled, knowing full well Liam wasn't making an idle threat. He would have someone kick her out.

Martha said no more, gritted her teeth, and left in tears.

When Celeste returned home the next day with breakfast, her phone bombarded her with messages.

Upon noticing the sender was Skyler, her brows knitted in consternation. Drawing a deep breath, she responded to one of the messages.

Before she could say anything else, Skyler started questioning: "Celeste, did you have Liam fire Martha?"
