No Mercy No Forgiveness (Maureen) novel Chapter 110

Reenie, you’ve been married to Geoff for over three years without giving him a child.

Do you know how people judge him?

Consider othersfeelingsdon’t be so selfish.

Selfish..

Maureen laughed bitterly inside. Who was truly selfish?

When she’d been childless before, why hadn’t this woman questioned her own son?

I’ve said ittake this up with Geoffrey. It’s not that I refuse to leave.

Heather hadn’t expected such defiance. She marched toward Maureen. Is this how you speak to your elders?

Her palm shot toward Maureen’s face-

But Maureen seized her wrist midair.

Compose yourself, Ms. Gu.

Maureen flung her hand away.

Heather staggered backward. Long after leaving, she couldn’t reconcile this steelwilled woman with the meek daugh-

terinlaw she’d once known.

After stepping outside, she picked up her phone and called her private secretary.

Find out what Geoff has been doing lately.

Though Heather was Geoffrey’s mother, she couldn’t fathom his thoughts.

He claimed not to love Maureen, yet kept her at Pearl.

What was wrong with him?

Lately, she noticed Geoffrey often seemed distracted.

If this continued, other Sutton Family branches would exploit the weakness.

After hanging up, Heather anxiously called Wayne and Geoffrey’s secretaries, fishing for information about him, but learned nothing useful.

Inside the villa.

Chapter110

Maureen listened to the departing car, her heart uneasy.

Geoffrey didn’t care about children, but the Suttons valued descendants deeply.

Because of Heather and her mother Noelle, she’d been forced to swallow countless medicines.

She knew how desperately Heather wanted a grandson, praying Geoffrey wouldn’t tell her about Ethan.

Outside Pearl.

A small figure in a mask and hat watched from afar.

Jacob told the driver he was playing with friends, and his friend’s driver would take him home that evening.

Then he took a taxi alone to Pearl.

He wanted to see Mommy, check how her allergy was doing, and find out if that jerk was around.

As dusk settled, he turned back without catching sight of Maureen.

No taxis herehe’d have to trek a kilometer or two.

Heather’s car glided past just then. Staring blankly out the window, her gaze snagged on Jacob’s small figure.

What’s a child doing here?

Frowning, she signaled the driver to stop.

Stepping out, Heather’s icy expression melted into kindness the instant she recognized Jacob.

Jacob, what brings you here?

No other homes stood near Pearl.

Caught off guard, Jacob frozeno time to hide.

Hello, Grandma Heather. I got separated from friends while playing.

Those striking, deepset eyes held an inexplicable familiarity, dissolving her foul mood.

I see.

A flicker of hope faded within Heather.

For a heartbeat before recognizing him, she’d imagined her son might’ve sneak her a grandson.

What a pity

Heather didn’t suspect the child, came up to Jacob, crouched down: Do you remember where you live?

Grandma can take you home?

Heather’s kindness surprised Jacob a little.

After marrying Grandpa, since Grandpa didn’t care for the family, she raised her son alone, never smiling to outsiders.

While he was lost in thought, Heather said again: If you remember your dad or mom’s number, Grandma can help you call them.

Jacob snapped out of it, bowed to her.

Thank you, can you take me to the main road bus stop?
