No Mercy No Forgiveness (Maureen) novel Chapter 241

Chapter241

Actually, she didn’t know that shrew might’ve lost her future if not for her.

“I’ve sent for a new caregiver.”

Geoffrey said.

“Hmm.”

Fuming earlier left Zoe with little strength.

Gritting through pain, she told Geoffrey: “Don’t think me helping you means forgiveness.

You’re still Reenie’s husband after all. I just hate seeing outsiders bully you.”

Forgive…

Geoffrey seized that word.

Wayne being his man had shared his past with Maureen, yet skimmed over his wrongdoings.

So Geoffrey remained clueless about what he’d done to Maureen.

Wayne only told how he pleased Maureen-bought the Ramirez estate, Juan’s relics, rebuilt Ramirez Tower, all that.

“Zoe, why d’you despise me so?

What exactly did I do before?”

That question broke Zoe’s restraint as she spilled how he’d neglected Maureen.

“Y’know?

What Noelle and Adrian did back then-Reenie knew nothing!”

She’s been accused of being a gold digger all this time, letting you bully her without a way to defend herself.”

“I still remember when she swallowed a whole bottle of pills to cut ties with Noelle.”

“And you? You thought she’d marry some old man for 50 million dollars.”

“The doctor said no death comes without pain. Reenie was so afraid of pain, yet she went

that far.”

Geoffrey never imagined his memories had been polished by his own mind.

He only remembered Reenie loving him, not how he’d treated her.

His head throbbed violently, as if about to explode. Fragmented memories surged at the edges of his consciousness.

Zoe didn’t notice his distress and continued.

“Living here alone, every visit from Reenie was filled with stories about how wonderful you were.”

“But we both knew the truth-you were terrible for her. Completely wrong.

Zoe’s teary eyes locked onto Geoffrey: “Now you know it all. I’m halfway in the grave-no reason to lie.”

“I’m begging you-let Reenie go.

“Gareth’s a good man. He looked after us overseas.

“If she marries him, she’ll finally find happiness.”

Geoffrey vaguely recalled fragments from five years ago.

He remembered abandoning Maureen alone at their wedding.

He remembered her tear-streaked face when her father died-how he’d shown no concern, only cared about being deceived by the Ramirez Family.

Geoffrey strained to remember more, but his head throbbed harder.

He forced himself to stop, turning toward Zoe:

“Zoe, I can’t promise you that.

Zoe froze as Geoffrey continued:

“I won’t stand by and watch the woman I love marry another man.

I swear I’ll change. I’ll treat Reenie right. I’ll never hurt her again.”

Zoe scoffed at his nonsense. “All your fancy words mean nothing. You’re only acting this way because you’re blind. If you were fine, you’d still treat her like dirt.”

Geoffrey had no rebuttal. He knew only actions would convince her.

Zoe stormed off to her room, too furious to speak.

Geoffrey hadn’t eaten since returning. Maureen still hadn’t come back, and recalling the nurse’s words, she might stay away for days.

He picked up his phone and dialed her number.

Meanwhile, Maureen had returned to the city of Karaville. After bailing Thomas out, she headed straight to meet Katherine and Jacob.

During their meal, she saw Geoffrey’s call and immediately excused herself to answer outside.

“What is it?”

“Where are you right now?”

Geoffrey got straight to the point.

Maureen didn’t want to tell him: “None of your business. Focus on yourself these days. I’ve already hired a caregiver for Zoe. I’ll be back in a few days.”

While listening, Geoffrey had someone trace the IP address of her call.

Soon, he learned Maureen was in Karaville.

Uncertain why she’d gone to Karaville alone, Geoffrey arranged a car to pick him up.

“Then stay safe. Call me if anything happens.

And it’s freezing now-don’t catch a cold…”

Before Geoffrey finished, Katherine popped her head out. Maureen instantly hung up.

She noticed Geoffrey was becoming increasingly naggy.

Katherine whispered, “Geoffrey?”
