Chapter242
“Don’t worry, they won’t get a cent.”
She’d repaid Noelle’s debt of giving birth. Her current life was saved by Zoe, Gareth, and the
doctors.
“Have you figured out what to do?”
Katherine wanted to help, but she’d had her license revoked.
Maureen nodded: “I’ve got something. With this, Noelle and Adrian won’t get anything.”
“What is it?”
Katherine asked, puzzled.
“My father’s will,”
Maureen answered.
Before his death, fearing the company might fall into his wastrel son’s hands, Juan had secretly drafted an additional will.
The document stipulated two provisions: one granted Maureen a hundred million dollars, while the other allowed her to claim his entire estate-including Ramirez-at her sole discretion.
Maureen had kept this will hidden all these years. Its disclosure would invalidate the version Noelle possessed.
Fresh out of college back then, Maureen lacked both the skills to manage a corporation and the desire to seize assets from her mother and brother.
Moreover, without influential backing, the will’s legitimacy would’ve been challenged regardless.
But now everything had changed. Maureen was no longer that soft-hearted girl. If Noelle pushed too hard, she wouldn’t hesitate to burn bridges.
Katherine stared in disbelief. “So that’s how it was… Though Ramirez is already gone-”

“What if I demand restitution?”
Maureen pressed.
Jacob spoke up beside them: “Then they’d have to return everything. Even if they refuse, they’d pay dearly.”
Maureen gently ruffled Jacob’s hair.
“I don’t want her to return it, I just want to scare them into behaving properly.”
Katherine didn’t expect she’d react slower than Jacob, and couldn’t resist pinching his cheek.
Jacob dodged away in disgust.
While the two were roughhousing, the doorbell rang.
Katherine looked over in confusion: “We didn’t order delivery, who’s ringing?
I’ll check.”
She slipped on her slippers and went to look. Through the peephole, she saw someone wearing a mask and hat standing at the door.
“Who are you?”
Andrea took off her mask.
She’d sent people to investigate several times before learning Maureen had come to Karaville and was temporarily staying with Katherine.
The two rented in a rundown apartment building, making her search forever while worrying about being spotted.
“Andrea!
!”
Katherine looked shocked. Without opening the door, she returned to the living room to tell Maureen.
Maureen frowned: “What’s she doing here?”
Ever since Andrea’s short clips got exposed worldwide months ago, Maureen and Katherine had heard nothing about her.

“Not sure, I’ll go ask.”
“Okay”
Meanwhile, Jacob pretended not to understand and asked Maureen: “Mommy, is she the woman who bullied you before?”
Maureen was puzzled; she’d never mentioned Andrea to Jacob.
“Who told you?”
Jacob choked up, realizing he almost slipped up.
“Oh, Aunt Katherine told me when she was drunk before. She said Andrea was a bad woman who used to bully you.”
Maureen dismissed her doubts and hugged him: “Don’t worry, nobody can bully Mommy
now.”
While they talked, Katherine turned to tell Maureen that Andrea had come to apologize and wanted to see her.
Maureen told Jacob to go back to his room.
As Jacob returned to his room, Andrea walked in. She caught a glimpse of the small retreating figure, feeling it looked familiar though she couldn’t place it.
Shifting her gaze back, Andrea looked at Maureen sitting on the sofa-still looking down on others, face utterly serene.
She simply couldn’t bring herself to kneel before Maureen.
Right then, Lisa’s impatient voice crackled through her earpiece:
“Andrea, I don’t have all day to monitor you. Kneel or get on with it!”
Andrea lost all her backbone after hearing that. Right in front of Katherine, she dropped to her knees before Maureen.
“Reenie, I’m sorry.”
Maureen was stunned by the sight.
Katherine was the first to suspect Andrea had some scheme.
