She leaned forward, every word sharp as glass.
“Let me make this crystal clear, Trevor Kence. I will NEVER get back together with you. Isabella might share your DNA, but she’s MY daughter. You stay the hell away from her school, you stay away from us, and we all move on with our lives.”
For a long moment, Trevor just stared at her. Then he started laughing–not a happy laugh, but something cold and unsettling.
“Move on?” His voice dropped to almost a whisper, but there was something scary in it. “Baby, we can’t move on. You were going to be my wife. Isabella is my blood. We’re family. That doesn’t just go away.”
The way he said it–so calm, so sure of himself–made Talia’s skin crawl. This was the Trevor she remembered from the worst times. The one who never heard the word “no.” The one who steamrolled over everyone to get what he wanted.
just like he’d done with Ivana. Just like he was trying to do now,
Talia felt completely drained. It was like trying to argue with a brick wall–a really stubborn, obsessed brick wall.
