His bloodshot eyes snapped open, his swollen features twisting in disbelief. For the first time, the arrogance and the satisfaction crumbled.

What?

Valerian watched the shift in his expression with cold amusement. A slow, knowing smirk tugged at his lips. There it is

Without a word, he flicked his fingers gesturing his men a command.

His men immediately moved forward, gripping Adrian and hauling him back up, securing him in the chair once

more.

But Adrian wasn’t focused on them.

His breath came in ragged, uneven gasps. His mind was reeling, but there was no time to process it. Because the moment Valerian turned away, stepping toward the door, something inside him snapped.

FUCK!!!

His scream tore through the room, raw and animalistic, as if the pain of his injuries had been completely erased by the real wound Valerian had just inflicted.

Vasiliev!!!Adrian thrashed violently against his restraints. His body jerked forward as if he could lunge at him despite being tied down. The ropes dug deeper into his flesh, burning, cutting, threatening to tear skin apart but he didn’t care.

DON’T YOU DARE TOUCH MY CHILD!!!

But Valerian didn’t look back nor respond.

He simply walked out the door, drowning out Adrian’s enraged, desperate screams.

The second the door slammed shut, Adrian lost it.

His screams turned feral, his voice raw with hysteria. He thrashed so violently that the chair scraped against the floor, his muscles straining as he yanked against the restraints, heedless of the way the ropes burned into his skin. NO!!!His voice cracked, hoarse and desperate. You fucking bastard! Don’t you dare let her do it!!!

He struggled harder, his body jerking against the binds, veins bulging in his arms from the sheer force he was using to break free. But the ropes held firmly, tightly, and mercilessly. His wrists were already raw, skin splitting, but he didn’t stop.

LET ME OUT!

His bloodied face twisted in rage, but beneath itbeneath the fury and desperationwas fear.

NOELLE!!!He roared, as if she could hear him, as if screaming her name would somehow change things.DON’T YOU FUCKING DARE!!!

His body convulsed, jerking so wildly that the chair tilted before slamming back down with a loud crack. Spit and blood dripped from his lips as his breath came in ragged gasps. His chest heaved, his throat burned, but none of it mattered.

SHE’S MINE!His voice shattered, veins popping in his neck as he fought like a man possessed. THAT BABY IS MINE!!!

Outside, Valerian’s men remained silent, their expressions neutralbut even they could hear it. The frantic, hysterical screams echoing down the cold, concrete halls.

Adrian’s breathing was erratic, his entire body drenched in sweat, his vision spinningbut he kept going. His muscles screamed in protest, his arms felt like they were being ripped apart from the strain, but the panic clawing at his insides was worse than any physical pain.

SHE CAN’T DO THIS!!!

NOELLE!!!His voice was wrecked now, breaking under the weight of his desperation. DON’TI AM BEGGING YOU FUCK!!!

His chest caved with each frantic breath, his vision blurred with rage, exhaustion, helplessness. But the binds wouldn’t give.

He was powerless.

And that realizationthe fact that he couldn’t stop it, couldn’t do a damn thing was worse than the beating Valerian had given him. Worse than any pain he had ever endured.

Adrian let out a final, guttural scream before his body slumped forward, muscles twitching from exertion, his wrists slick with sweat and blood.

Still panting, still trembling, but utterly defeated.

Noelle lay motionless, staring at the wall, but she wasn’t really seeing it. Her mind was a tangled mess of memories, regrets, and unbearable truths so much that the silence around her felt deafening.

Her chest rose and fell in slow, uneven breaths, as the burden began pressing down on her like she was suffocating. The oxygen mask clung to her face, but she barely felt it.

She didn’t want to feel anything.

With weak, trembling fingers, she reached up and removed the mask, letting it fall beside her. Then, with a deep inhale, she forced herself to sit up.

Pain lanced through her chest instantly, sharp and unforgiving. She gasped as her body instinctively recoiled but she didn’t stop. She wouldn’t stop.

Pain was better than this.

Better than lying there, drowning in the memory of Adrian’s touch. Better than the sickening reality of what was growing inside her.

Her hand drifted down, resting unconsciously over her stomach. The small, barelythere swell beneath her palm sent an ache through her heart. It was a deep, twisting kind of sorrow that had no words.

A bitter, broken smile trembled on her lips.

Back thenI would have celebrated to have you,she whispered.

A life she had once dreamed of. A happiness she had once wanted.

But now

Her vision blurred.

Her breath hitched, and before she could stop it, hot tears spilled down her cheeks. One after another, faster, heavier, until they blurred everythinguntil she couldn’t see, couldn’t breathe through the sobs wracking her body.

Her fingers curled weakly over her belly, but instead of warmth, all she felt was cold.

I’m sorryshe choked out, voice trembling, barely more than a breath.

The words tasted like poison.

I’m sorry thatthat I no longer want youA sharp sob broke through her chest. That I can’t love you

Her body shook violently, shoulders caving in as the guilt crushed her.

She had always thought that if she ever carried a child, she would love them with everything she had. That she would cherish them, protect them, want them.

But she didn’t.

She couldn’t.

And it shattered her.

I’m sorry, she whispered again, her voice lost in the sound of her own sobs.

She wept, hunched over herself, clutching at a piece of her that she could not keep.
