Chapter 50: Seduction At Its Finest
Bianca sat at the bar, swirling the wine in her glass while her grip of her phone tightened with every passing second.
It had been two weeks since she last saw Adrian. Days since he last answered her calls.
She stared at the screen as her thumb hovered over his name. The silence was driving her insane. Adrian had always been unpredictable, but this has been going on ever since he left to look for her ex–fiancée.
Bianca bit her lower lip as she hit the call button, bringing the phone to her ear.
The call rang once. Twice. But still, there was nothing.
Her jaw tightened, and her fingers curled around the device as she stared at Adrian’s name on the screen.
‘Voicemail‘ Again. It had been a while since she last saw him, and despite her repeated calls, he hadn’t answered once. The silence burned, fueling a quiet panic she refused to acknowledge.
“Why wasn’t he picking up? Where the hell was he?‘
She exhaled sharply, tossing her phone onto the polished bar counter before reaching for her drink. The expensive liquor burned its way down her throat, but it did nothing to ease the frustration gnawing at her. The private bar buzzed with light laughter and murmured conversations that lingered around her. It was a world she had always belonged to but now felt oddly distant from knowing this kind of life was about to end.
Then, out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of a tall man dressed in black from head to toe. A topcoat, a turtleneck, tailored pants that fit him with an effortless kind of refinement. He moved confidently as if he owned the very air he breathed. Without hesitation, he took the seat beside her like he hadn’t just captured the attention of the entire room.
Bianca turned slightly as curiosity flickered through her frustration. Her gaze traveled to his face–and immediately, she stilled.
Silver–grey eyes. $1
Not just any grey. They were sharp, striking, almost metallic under the dim bar lighting. Cold, yet mesmerizing. Paired with his chiseled features and the kind of aura that sent an arousing chill through her, he looked like he belonged to another world entirely. A dream. Yes, a dream…
She didn’t know him nor was he familiar. She was certain of that.
And yet, for the first time since Adrian started ignoring her, Bianca found herself momentarily forgetting why she was even upset in the first place.
“If you keep staring at me like that, I’ll be embarrassed,” the man suddenly joked, his voice smooth yet laced with amusement.
Bianca blinked, caught off guard.
He didn’t look at her right away, simply glancing her way before turning his attention to the bartender, who was quietly wiping down glasses. With a slight tilt of his head, he gestured for a drink
“A shot of Tempest’s Kiss,” he ordered.
Bianca’s brows lifted.
She knew her drinks. Knew the names, their origins, the meanings behind them. But that one–she had never heard of it before.
Intrigued, she leaned in slightly, resting her chin on her palm as she turned to fully face him. There was something about him— something distant yet oddly magnetic.
On impulse, she spoke. “I’m Bianca.”
She extended her hand, watching him expectantly.

The man sinirked, still not looking at her as he swirled his glass, watching the liquid settle. “I know.”
Bianca stiffened slightly. “What?”
Finally, he turned to her as those piercing silver–grey eyes locked into hers with amusement. “You’re that famous actress,
aren’t von?”
The casual remark was enough to ease the sudden tension she felt and she let out a soft chuckle. “Ah, so you do know who I am.
He finally took her hand, calmly gripping hers. “Val,” he simply said.
“Hm.” Bianca hummed in satisfaction as their hands separated, her curiosity growing.
“So, Val,” she mused, swirling the last of her wine in her glass. “What was that drink you ordered called again?”
Valerian was silent for a moment, as if debating whether to entertain the question. Then, he finally answered.
“Tempest’s Kiss.”
Bianca raised a brow. “Never heard of it.”
A faint smirk played on his lips as he leaned back slightly, resting his forearm on the bar. “That’s because it’s not a common drink. It’s a mix of absinthe and a Dark and Stormy.”
Her interest piqued. “Absinthe and rum?”
He gave a slow nod. “Most wouldn’t dare to combine the two. Absinthe has a sharp, herbal bitterness, and Dark and Stormy- well, that’s dark rum, ginger beer, and lime. The two are intense on their own, but when balanced right, they create something… bold.” He tilted his glass slightly, watching the liquid settle. “It’s not for the faint of heart.”
Bianca smirked, resting her chin on her palm again. “And let me guess, you’re not faint of heart.”
Valerian finally met her gaze fully as his silver–grey eyes gleamed ‘Not in the slightest.”
The confidence in his tone, the way he carried himself with effortless authority, sent a thrill down Bianca’s spine. He was unlike anyone she had met before. He was polished yet untamed, a perfect blend of danger and intrigue. And right now, she wanted to figure him out.
A playful smirk tugged at her lips as she leaned in slightly. “As far as I remember…” she mused, swirling her wine glass between her fingers once more, “Absinthe carries a very particular message” She let her gaze flicker to his drink. “It says, ‘I’m dangerous, but you might like that.‘”
Valerian said nothing, only raising a brow. He knows what his drink meant.
“And Dark & Stormy…” Bianca trailed off, tilting her head. “That one means, ‘There’s more to me than meets the eye.‘” She paused, her smirk deepening. “Mysterious. Edgy. Someone you can’t quite figure out.”
She tapped her fingers against the counter. “So tell me, Val–do you drink it because you’re dangerous, or because there’s more to you than meets the eye?”
Valerian let out a light chuckle as his grip tightened slightly around the glass. He took a slow sip, letting the burn settle before he spoke.
“Maybe,” he murmured, setting the glass down and looking at her intently. “Would you like to find out?”
Bianca’s breath caught in her throat.
There was something in the way he said it–not just confidence, but she was certain he was trying to seduce her. As if he already knew she would take the bait. As if he wanted her to.
And damn it, she did.

A slow smile curved on her lips, playful and intrigued.
Oh, I like him already, she thought before placing her hand on his thigh. “Would you like to go somewhere quiet?”
