Chapter156.
A flicker of mock fear crossed Tyrell’s face.”Mr. Pearson, please don’t frighten me. I’m quite timid, you know. If you scare me, I’ll have to run back and seek comfort from Anya. And knowing you, I might even have to sleep in her bed tonight to recover. So, please, try not to scare me.”
Leland’s face contorted with fury. Tyrell, you dare to get close to her? Just try it, and see if I don’t make sure you never leave San Francisco!”
Tyrell feigned shock, taking a step back. “Oh, I’m so frightened, Mr. Pearson. Why don’t you punch me a few times? Then I’d have a legitimate reason to be hospitalized, and Anya could come take care of me. Just thinking about her scent is enough to cure my lovesickness. And my insomnia? Gone. Just knowing Anya might be near me allows me to sleep soundly every night.”
The dangerous glint in Leland’s eyes flared into pure rage. His fists clenched, veins bulging on his temples.
He resembled a cornered lion, poised to strike at any moment, radiating an aura of palpable menace.
Sensing the volatile tension, Allen intervened, stepping between them.”Mr. Pearson, since you’re unwilling to share certain company details, we won’t detain you. Please feel free to leave. As for the Leslie Group, we have our president firmly at the helm. We are confident in our ability to lead this company to greater heights.”
Leland looked utterly wracked with pain. He closed his eyes for a long moment, then reopened them, his voice flat, “Very well. The acquisition contract for the Leslie Group will be signed in three days. I will sign it personally with your president. And regarding Anya-tell her that if you have any questions about the company, she should come to me directly. I’m staying at Glory Villas, Villa Number Two.”
Tyrell stepped forward slightly, his composure momentarily slipping at the mention of Anya.
Allen, however, remained composed and understanding.”Mr. Vaughn, please don’t worry. Should we have any further company-related questions, I assure you, I will personally ensure my sister accompanies me to seek your guidance. And, of course, the true president of our Zenith Group will also be present.”
With Allen’s assurance, Leland had no further reason to remain.
