Chapter 186
Chapter 186
Dames forced himself to swallow his irritation. He was the darling of Vaughn Enterprises, Gemma’s golden boy-the one she doted on most.
Looking up, he glanced over to where Selene stood and, to his delight, caught her looking in their direction.
Just as he thought. Acting like this was sure to grab Selene’s attention.
Emboldened, Dames busied himself helping Felicity tear open the packet of jerky.
Felicity, not wanting to get her hands dirty, turned to him and said, “Feed me.”
Dames’ expression soured a little, especially when he noticed Selene had already looked away.
Still, he reached into the bag, pulled out a strip of jerky, and held it up to Felicity’s lips-though his eyes stayed fixed on Selene the entire time.
Come on, look over here! he chanted in his mind.
He was being so nice to Felicity-Selene must be jealous.
It’s her own fault for not wanting to be his mom. She could never have the jerky he fed someone else.
Clarissa let out an exaggerated whistle. “Dames, are you seriously feeding Felicity jerky? How sweet!”
Her voice rang out, sharp and loud enough to turn heads.
Felicity crossed her legs with a huff, unfazed. “What’s the big deal? Hasn’t Penelope ever fed you snacks?”
Clarissa snorted, “Penelope’s my mom, you know! That’s not the same!”
Felicity smirked. “Why not? I’m Harrison’s dad-and Dames’ big brother,
too!”

Clarissa let out a laugh through her nose. What a mess-everyone’s relationship in this group was a jumble of nonsense.
She’d seen right through Felicity’s pretended indifference toward Harrison since Felicity was eighteen, even if Natalie naïvely believed they were just friends.

points, you won’t be able to trade them for lunch supplies. You might have to go hungry!”
Noticing it was a young female teacher, Felicity’s expression twisted into a cold sneer, her voice dripping with disdain. “Mind your own business!”
Another one, she thought-a shameless hussy trying to cozy up to
Harrison.
The teacher, stung by Felicity’s hostility, walked off in confusion, her face stiff with embarrassment. She rejoined a group of her colleagues.
“That Thompson girl is wild,” one muttered. “Snapping at everyone like a rabid dog.”
“Shh! Keep your voice down,” another whispered. “Didn’t you see how much Damien spoiled Felicity just now? I wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up as his stepmom.”
The teacher who’d just been snapped at blurted, “Who in their right mind would marry their own brother?”
