Chapter 137: Chapter 137 - What You Said (Five Updates)

"Uncle Mo, I’ve brought you some food." Tang Yue held up the food containers, two boxes, one double-layered for food, the other single-layered for soup.

Tang Yue set the boxes on the table next to her. As soon as she opened them, the fragrant smell wafted out, instantly whetting the appetite.

"Did you make this?" Mo Siyu raised an eyebrow. The chicken soup was golden and rich, and the dishes in the box were well combined and colorful - scrambled eggs with tomatoes, stir-fried celery and beansprouts, and braised pork.

"Aunt Mo said you shouldn’t eat spicy food these days, so I didn’t add any chili," explained Tang Yue. She loved spicy food, and looking at these dishes without chili, she thought she would need some chili to make it tasty enough for her.

"I might not have made it very tasty." Tang Yue said as she picked up the lunch box and handed it over.

Mo Siyu took it from her, asking, "Have you eaten?"

"I’ve eaten." Tang Yue replied without hesitation.

Mo Siyu looked deeply at her. He, too, loved spicy food. Seeing these non-spicy dishes, his dark eyebrows contracted almost imperceptibly.

He picked a piece of braised pork; it tasted quite good. The fat was just right, melting in the mouth with all the flavors absorbed into the meat, rich but not greasy.

Mo Siyu raised his eyebrows and praised, "Not bad, I’m in for a treat from now on."

"Thank you for the compliment." Tang Yue quietly sighed in relief. Holding the chicken soup, she placed a spoon beside it and said, "This chicken was bought by Aunt Mo. Most of it is here, and the small remaining part went to my little uncle."

"You haven’t eaten?" Mo Siyu asked back, having nearly finished his meal without even realizing, even though the dishes were not spicy.

"This chicken soup, you drink half, the rest is mine," Mo Siyu demanded in an authoritative tone, making it hard for anyone to refuse.

Tang Yue’s mouth twitched, saying, "Uncle Mo, I had some yesterday. If I have more, I’ll turn into a ball."

Mo Siyu glanced at her and said, "Too skinny."

Tang Yue: ...

Mo Siyu finished his meal cleanly, poured some chicken soup into his rice box, leaving half for Tang Yue.

Before Tang Yue could refuse, Mo Siyu’s dark eyes swept over, saying, "Do I need to feed you?"

Tang Yue quickly shook her head and promptly finished the remaining soup.

Mo Siyu’s lips slightly lifted.

After the meal, Mo Siyu asked, "About the question last time, you haven’t answered yet."

Tang Yue tried to pretend she didn’t know.

Mo Siyu reminded her slowly, word by word.

"My mom really likes you, how about we turn this pretend play into reality, and clear up the misunderstanding for real?" 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

This sentence had been lingering in Tang Yue’s ears for several days. Suddenly hearing it again, she completely forgot the answer she had thought of that morning, just staring blankly at him.

"Xiao Yue, after getting married, I could stick to just one route, so we won’t be apart for long," Mo Siyu got straight to the point.

Tang Yue blurted out, "I’m only seventeen."

Mo Siyu had a smile at the corner of his mouth, his words meaningful, "After the New Year, you’ll be eighteen."
