As soon as Alina stepped inside, a slow, sadistic smile curled at her lips at the sight before her.

“There he is.” Alina said, walking further into the room.

She had been scared out of her mind the first time she was here, but now she dominated the whole place. She didn’t only look different,she sounded different too. Her presence carried a dangerous calm, like a storm just before it broke.

It felt like she had taken a masterclass on ‘How to be like Lucian 101‘.

Adrian was passed out, but it pleased her greatly to see him hanging from the ceiling, shirtless and helpless.

“Let’s wake him up, shall we?” She said to no one in particular.

Lee made a move to wake Adrian, but she stopped him with a raised hand.

“No, not like that.” She shook her head, walking to the tool table. She grabbed an exposed wire, turned on the switch, and pressed the tip of the wire to the chain holding Adrian.

Electricity zapped through the metal. Adrian jolted awake with a guttural cry, body arching against the restraints as the current ripped through him.

By now, Jordan and Lee were staring at her with thinly veiled fear. They couldn’t help but think of how much like Lucian she looked at that moment. She might even be worse.

She wasn’t the sweet, calm Alina who always got them treats or gifts when they went shopping, she had been replaced by someone they couldn’t recognize.

In his office, Ace and Lucian watched the scene on the big screen.

“Damn, she looks scary.” Ace commented, eyes wide with awe.

“She looks damn hot.” Lucian responded, his gaze locked on Alina’s face, pride flickering in his expression.

“I think you’ve created a monster, Boss.“Ace said, glancing over.

“Why haven’t I ever thought of using the shocker?” Lucian muttered to himself, intrigued.

Ace rolled his eyes at his words. Of course, that was what he’d focus on.

He turned his attention back to the screen.

Alina smiled as Adrian jolted awake, confused,his eyes darting around in fear.

“What the fuck, Alina!” He spat, glaring at her as soon as their eyes met.

“Ah ah ah,” she tutted, shaking her index finger like she was scolding a child. “I do not appreciate the attitude.”

His words were cut short as she pressed the shocker to the chain again, sending another jolt through him.

The pain was unlike anything Adrian had ever felt. His heart raced as he stared at her, eyes wide, mouth slack.

The electric sizzle in the air made Lee and Jordan instinctively take a step back, wincing.

“I said, I do not appreciate the attitude.” She repeated, huffing like a teacher dealing with a disobedient child.

It was clear, while Lucian didn’t mind blood, Alina couldn’t stand it. She preferred things cleaner. More precise.

“This is illegal, Alina! What you’re doing is against the law!” Adrian shouted, desperation creeping into his voice.

Alina wanted to scream, to tell him that so was stabbing her and burning her to death in her past life.

“I know.” She said instead, shrugging casually.

“Then why are you doing this? Are you not afraid of the law?” He asked, voice cracking.

“What law? The same one that lets people like you get away with things?” she fired back, tone laced with disdain. “Why should I be afraid of such laws? Besides, do you know who my fiancé is?” she added smugly. “The law cannot do anything to me, even if I was to strap you in front of the town square and torture you.”

Lucian couldn’t help the proud smile that spread across his face at her words.

Yes, she might be handling this herself, but she was using his name as a shield. And he loved it.

“Any other questions?” She asked, tilting her head.

Adrian didn’t respond, only glared,

“I’ll take your silence as a no, then,” she shrugged. “Now, do you know why I’m doing this?”

This time the shock made contact with his skin, directly on his stomach. Adrian opened his mouth to scream, but no sound came out. The agony was instant, sharp, unbearable.

Alina held it longer than before, watching his body writhe before finally pulling it away.

The room was cold, yet Adrian was drenched in sweat, his breath coming out in ragged pants.

“It seems like you’re not taking me seriously yet,” she said calmly, making his eyes widen like saucers. “But don’t worry… we have all day.”

She walked over to the tool table again, picked up a tool that looked like a branding iron, plugged it in, and waited for it to heat.

Adrian watched her in fear, limbs trembling, his eyes flicking nervously from the glowing tool to her unreadable face.

“Why is there nothing to use here?” She whined, though the table and walls were lined with tools.

But those tools were designed to cause blood, and she didn’t want to get her hands dirty.

She picked up a familiar tool she had seen Lucian almost use on Jordan nearly a year ago.

Jordan shivered at the sight, making Lee shoot him a questioning glance.

As if Alina could feel his panic, she spoke without turning.

“Don’t worry, Jordan. This isn’t for you this time. In fact, I promise not to let the meanie hurt you ever, okay?” She said, referring to Lucian.

Jordan nodded, even though she wasn’t looking at him.

Lucian rolled his eyes at her words, while Ace let out a laugh.

“She talked about protecting Jordan from me. She never said anything about you.” Lucian muttered to Ace, tone low and warning. “Keep laughing.”
