“THEN HOW THE FUCK DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT?!” Alina’s voice cracked with rage, echoing through the air like a slap.

Lucian’s brows furrowed as he stared at the phone screen, his chest tightening. His eyes widened in disbelief at the sight.

There he was, sprawled on a bed, the sheets pooled low on his hips. He knew he’d had his boxer briefs on that night, but to anyone else looking at this video, it screamed naked vulnerability.

And there was Jessica, wearing his shirt.

“What the fuck is this?” His voice was sharp, laced with confusion as his gaze flicked to Alina for the briefest second before snapping back to the damning video.

Alina’s tone was flat, her expression unreadable. “Why are you asking me? Shouldn’t I be the one asking you that?”

“I don’t know what this is…I swear,” Lucian said, running a hand through his hair as though trying to shake the image from his mind. “I’m trying to wrap my head around it.”

A cold scoff escaped Alina’s lips. “The truth is right in front of us. If that’s all you have to say, then you can leave. I have nothing more to say to you.”

“Ace!” Lucian’s sudden yell thundered through the suite.

The door opened almost instantly, and Ace stepped in, his posture straight. He spared a respectful nod to Alina before turning to his boss.

Lucian thrust the phone toward him. “What the hell is going on? Didn’t you say you brought me to my suite and that was it? Then tell me,what the fuck is Jessica doing in here, in my shirt?”

Ace’s brow creased as he took in the image. “I don’t know, boss. I did bring you in… you were half–naked because you took your clothes off yourself because they reeked of alcohol and you couldn’t stand the smell, you were out cold before I left.”

“Then how the fuck did she get in here?” Lucian’s voice rose, his anger vibrating through the air. “And why the fuck was she even in my room?”

Ace hesitated, frowning, then suddenly muttered, “Oh.”

Lucian’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “Oh what?”

“When I was leaving,” Ace began carefully, “Jessica was at the door. She said she needed to pick up a document. I… let her in. But I had to take a call, so I left her there.”

Lucian’s jaw tightened, his voice cutting like a blade. “Why the fuck would you let her into my suite without supervision?”

“I’m sorry boss,” Ace said quickly. “I didn’t know she’d pull something like this. She’s always been professional…I didn’t think anything of it.”

Lucian started to issue orders, “Find out exactly what happened, how long she stayed-”

“Excuse me.” Alina cut in sharply drawing their attention “Can you both take this outside of my suite.” Her eyes flashed with restrained fury.

She didn’t want to hear any of that.

Lucian turned to her, his tone softening, desperation slipping into his gaze. “Alina… please. Believe me, nothing happened between us.”

Her laugh was humorless. “If you were in my position, would you believe you?”

He flinched slightly at the question.

“You already thought the worst of me from a single picture,” she continued, her voice trembling between anger and pain. “And now you expect me to believe this is nothing?”

She was right though, when he got the picture of her and Louis hugging, he had thought the worse of her. He knew for a fact that if the reverse was the case and she is the one in such a compromising position in a video, he would have done something crazy.

“Exactly.” Alina said flatly,her eyes locked onto his. “Why was she in nothing but your t–shirt?”

Lucian opened his mouth… but no answer came.

“That’s what I thought.” She said coldly.

“I don’t have the explanation right now doll,” he admitted, his voice low but steady, “but one thing I’m sure of is that I will never cheat on you. Drunk or not.” His voice was firm with certainty.

“You don’t know that for sure,” she countered, her voice like ice. “You were already mad at me because you thought I cheated. For all I know, you might have done it out of spite.”

“Then why the fuck would I turn the whole city upside down to look for you if why would I fly all the way here to try and work things out” His tone was filled with exasperation.

“Maybe because you are so used to getting your way and you view me as some sort of possession you cannot bear to part with. But here is the thing, we are done, there is no way I will be with a man who cannot respect me.” Alina held his gaze.

She was surprised at how firm her voice sounded even though she was breaking inside.
