By the time Lucian and Alina stepped out of the room, the soft golden hue of evening light was spilling through the suite’s windows.

Their hair was a little tousled, their clothes freshly changed, but the languid ease in their movements spoke volumes of how they had spent their day,hours of making love, catching up, and sleeping away the lingering tension between them.

Talia, who had been lounging on the couch with her laptop open and Ace standing nearby, let out an exaggerated, relieved sigh.

“Finally,” she drawled, shutting the lid of her laptop with a snap. “I was starting to think you two had decided to move in there permanently.”

Alina’s brows rose, her voice carrying a hint of surprise.

“You’re here?”

Talia smirked. “This is my suite, where else would I be?” Her gaze flickered over Alina, zeroing in on the scattering of faint hickeys trailing down her neck. A slow, sly smile curved her lips.

Lucian didn’t bother responding to Talia’s teasing. Without so much as a glance in her direction, he strode toward Ace, his tone brisk.

“Did you go through the file on Jessica?”

Ace gave a curt nod and reached for a manila folder resting on the table. “Yeah. Here, I printed it out.” He flipped it open, papers rustling as he began to scan them again.

While the men’s focus was elsewhere, Talia slid off the couch and hooked her arm through Alina’s, steering her a few steps away. She leaned in close, her voice dropping into a mischievous whisper.

“With how long you two were at it, I’m surprised you can still walk straight.”

Alina shot her a warning look, though the corners of her lips twitched despite herself. “Talia…”

“What?” Talia grinned shamelessly. “Honestly, you were silly for ever thinking he and Jessica could’ve done anything in that short window. Considering Lucian’s stamina-” she wiggled her brows “-trust me, he wouldn’t have wasted it on her.”

“Yeah, I guess I was being silly” Alina admitted.

“So I take it you both are good now? I mean you can’t be not good considering how long you both spent in there.”

Alina rolled her eyes but a faint blush colored her cheeks. “We’re fine now. Obviously.”

She becomes the personal assistant to some big shot, tries to worm her way into his bed. When that doesn’t work, she starts taking money, company secrets, whatever she can get her hands on. Alina’s stomach turned. “So she’s not just after Lucian, she’s capable of destroying everything in the process.”
