“No.” Alina interjected quickly, her tone firm.

Lucian turned to her, clearly unhappy. “Why not?”

“Because the moment you remove Jessica’s people,” Alina explained, “she’ll feel like something’s up. We can’t have her on alert.”

Lucian’s lips pressed into a thin line, but after a tense pause, he gave a reluctant nod. “Fine. But I don’t like this. Especially the part where I have to act nice and pretend to like her.”

Alina’s expression softened just slightly. “It won’t be for long. You only have to pretend when you’re at work.” She leaned forward and pressed a quick kiss to his lips.

His smirk was faint, but it reached his eyes. “When this is over, you’re going to make it up to me. This could all be done in a couple of hours if you’d just let me handle it my way.”

Alina’s lips curved into a small giggle. “Not everything has to end in violence.”

“Violence yields faster results, though.” Lucian countered, his voice low and unyielding.

“I agree,” Talia chimed in without hesitation, a faint smirk tugging at her lips.

Alina shot her a small glare, her voice firm but tinged with exasperation. “Stop encouraging him, Talia.”

Talia lifted her hands in mock surrender, laughing softly. “Fine, fine. No more fueling the dragon.” She tilted her head, curiosity glinting in her eyes. “So, how exactly do you plan to do this public exposure?”

Alina shifted her attention back to Lucian, her tone deliberate. “Let some rumors fly first, both in your office and outside, that something’s going on between you and Jessica.”

Lucian’s head snapped toward her, his eyes narrowing. “I think the fuck not!”

“Calm down,” Alina said quickly, holding his gaze. “Just hear me out first.” She leaned forward slightly, her voice lowering into a measured cadence. “If you let the rumors spread and don’t deny them, it’ll make Jessica feel relaxed, comfortable even. Then, during the launch I am having in a week’s time, you take her as your date. Cement the gossip.”

Lucian’s expression darkened, jaw tightening, but he stayed silent, letting her continue.

“By then, people will already believe the story,” Alina went on, her tone sharpening with calculated precision. “That’s when we expose her. We play whatever evidence we have of her past stunts, and by then, we’ll have dug up everything she’s done in your company too. One clean strike, all at once.”

Talia leaned back against the arm of the sofa, brows slightly arched, her gaze fixed on Alina with a mix of curiosity and calculation.

“Why do you want it to happen at your launch though?” she asked slowly, her tone laced with skepticism. “Wouldn’t it make more sense if it happened at… I don’t know… an event Lucian’s company is organizing?”

Alina didn’t hesitate. “Lucian’s company can,” she said with a small, knowing smile. “They can announce that they’re the major sponsor of the launch. That way, it makes perfect sense for Lucian to be there… and so is Jessica.” She tilted her head slightly, the glint in her eyes betraying the layers of intent behind the plan.

Talia’s lips curved, but Alina wasn’t done. “Plus,” she added playfully, her tone light yet pointed, “you know I’m known for drama, always seems to find me whenever I organize something. This will only add more fuel to the fire.”
