Chapter 231
AUTHOR’S POV.
True to her word, Emily stuck to Alina’s side in the weeks leading up to the wedding. She made things easier for her, especially when it came to finalizing the bridesmaid dresses..
Emily had even suggested a few of her friends to complete the bridal train, and Alina hadn’t minded. Aside from Talia and Mia, she didn’t know many ladies well enough to ask, and there was no way in hell she was adding Seraphina as part of her train.
Emily, still a couple of months away from starting her internship with Alina as a designer, carried herself with a poise that surprised Alina sometimes. As she watched the young woman handle details with confidence and an almost natural authority, Alina couldn’t help but think what a good leader Emily would grow to be someday.
“Ma’am, we are ready for your dress fitting.” Mia’s voice broke into her thoughts as she entered the office.
Alina’s eyes lit up. She had designed her own wedding dress, pouring her soul into every detail, and the production team had been working tirelessly to bring it to life. Now, it was finally ready.
“Finally. Let’s go see it.” Talia said, springing to her feet with excitement. She had been sitting with Emily, going over some details when Mia came in.
The four ladies walked together to the dressing room. The moment they stepped inside, Alina’s breath hitched.
There it was. Her wedding gown, displayed on a beautiful rotating stand, catching the light in soft glimmers as it slowly turned.
It was nothing short of a fairytale. Layers of delicate ivory silk cascaded down in flowing waves, embroidered with silver–threaded vines that shimmered as if kissed by moonlight. Tiny crystals and pearls were scattered across the bodice like drops of morning dew, and the neckline swept gracefully, neither too modest nor too daring, framing the figure with elegance. A long cathedral veil, edged with intricate lace, trailed behind, completing the vision of timeless beauty.
Emily’s eyes widened as she clasped her hands together, almost bouncing on her feet. “Oh, you have to try it on, Alina.” She said eagerly, her voice bubbling with excitement.
Alina chuckled softly, shaking her head in amusement at Emily’s enthusiasm. “Alright, alright.” She said, turning to Mia. “Help me with it.”
Mia nodded and guided Alina into the inner room. It took a few careful minutes, but when Alina finally stepped out, the room seemed to still.
A sharp gasp escaped both Emily’s and Talia’s lips at the same time.
“My God…” Emily whispered, covering her mouth with both hands, her eyes shimmering.
Talia’s eyes softened as they roamed the gown, her lips curling into a wide smile. “You look… breathtaking.” She said, almost reverently.

Chapter 231
The two of them gushed for a good five minutes, circling her, adjusting the veil, and fussing over every little detail while Mia stood nearby, her lips curved into a proud smile, nodding in approval.
“Oh my God, Alina!” Emily squealed, her hands pressed dramatically against her cheeks as she stepped closer. “You look like you just stepped straight out of a fairytale. I mean…look at you! That gown is literally glowing
Talia walked a slow circle around her, her eyes keen and appreciative. “The embroidery is flawless,” she murmured, fingertips brushing lightly over the delicate silver–threaded vines. “And the way the crystals catch the light… it’s like watching the stars move when you breathe.” She looked up at her friend with a soft smile. “This is exactly how a bride should look.”
Emily clasped Alina’s hands tightly, her eyes shining. “I’m telling you, people are going to faint when they see you walk down that aisle. Mr. Blackwood won’t even be able to breathe. He’s going to cry…I know it.” She gave a little laugh, then tilted her head with a playful grin. “Actually, no…he might just drop to his knees before you even reach him.”
Mia let out a quiet chuckle, her voice warm but steady. “They’re not wrong, ma’am. This is one of your best creations yet. You’ve outdone yourself.” She adjusted the veil gently, careful hands smoothing it down. “It’s powerful but soft, elegant but bold. It feels… like you.”
Alina’s cheeks warmed under their words, her lips curving into a shy smile even as she tried to keep her
composure.
Talia’s gaze softened, and she gave a little shake of her head, almost in disbelief. “I’ve seen you in so many gowns, Alina, but this one… this is different. You don’t just look beautiful, you look… complete. Like this was always the moment you were designing for.”
Emily let out another squeal, bouncing slightly on her toes. “Ugh, I can’t take it. You’re so perfect, it’s almost unfair. If I don’t look even half this good at my wedding someday, I’m suing.” She winked, earning a small laugh from Mia.
The room filled with their voices, their admiration, their excitement wrapping around Alina like a warm blanket. Yet beneath the veil and the compliments, a flicker of unease shadowed her smile.
Talia’s sharp eyes caught it.
Her expression sobered. “Mia, Emily,” she said gently, “can you give us a minute?”
The two women exchanged glances but didn’t protest. Emily lingered for a moment, her brows knitting together as she shot Alina a worried look before slipping out quietly with Mia.
The room quieted.
Talia stepped closer, her voice soft. “What’s wrong? You don’t like the dress?”
Alina shook her head quickly, her hands smoothing over the silk as though to reassure herself. “No, I do. It’s… it’s beautiful.” Her voice wavered slightly, though her lips tried to hold the smile.
