Rebirth Of The Heiress And The Tycoon's Lover (Alina) novel Chapter 234

Chapter 234

AUTHOR’S POV

The suite was filled with the quiet rustle of movement…fabric brushing against fabric, the faint click of jewelry boxes opening and closing and whispered chatter trying to stay hushed but failing miserably.

The soft thud of drawers being pulled open and shut was the final straw. Alina stirred against the mound of pillows, frowning even before her eyes blinked open.

Her lashes fluttered, adjusting to the warm morning light that seeped faintly through the curtains. A quick glance at the clock on the bedside table nearly made her sit upright in indignation.

4:53 a.m.

“What the fuck, girls!” Alina’s groggy voice cracked through the room, sharp enough to freeze the motion around her. She pushed herself up with both palms, dark hair tumbling in soft waves around her face as she glared at the culprits.

All six bridesmaids turned guiltily… Talia with a bra strap dangling off her shoulder, Mia balancing a pair of heels in her hands, Emily clutching a garment bag, and the four other girls Emily had insisted on.

There was Lila who was bubbly and dramatic, Chloe, soft-spoken but mischievous, Ivy who was tall, stylish and with a biting wit that she wore as casually as her silk robe and Carina who was cool and sarcastic.

Talia smirked, unbothered by the bride’s irritation. “That is such a vulgar word coming out of a bride-to-be’s mouth so early in the morning.”

Alina groaned, dragging the sheets over her head dramatically before pulling them down again. “I’m glad you know it’s early. So tell me, why the fuck am I awake before dawn?”

Emily beamed, far too cheerful for someone who hadn’t seen five o’clock in months. “Because it’s your wedding day, in case you’re forgetting.”

Alina flopped back down against the pillow, staring at the ceiling in defeat. “I am not forgetting. What I think all of you are forgetting is that the ceremony isn’t until late afternoon. That’s hours away! We have alooottt of time, girls. Come on!” She whined like a child deprived of candy.

Mia chuckled, setting the shoes down carefully. “That’s what you’ll think until you blink and realize you only have two hours left to get ready. Then you’ll be screaming at us to move faster.”

“Exactly,” Ivy chimed in dryly, flipping her glossy hair over one shoulder. “So, no, we are not letting you sleep the morning away.”

“You’re all insane,” Alina muttered, but she knew there was no winning with them. Their determined, wide- eyed looks said enough. “Fine. But don’t expect me to sit here twiddling my thumbs until noon. I’m working on sketches.”

She rolled out of bed, slipping into her robe, and padded toward her desk. The familiar feel of pencil against paper was grounding even as laughter and chatter filled the room. Her hand moved instinctively, sketching lines that only she could see transforming into fabric.

The bridesmaids, meanwhile, were caught in their own world checking, rechecking, and obsessing over their dresses and accessories as though the satin had somehow changed color overnight.

Does this neckline look too dramatic?” Lila twirled in front of the mirror, the silk of her robe catching light.

“It looked dramatic yesterday, it looks dramatic today, and it’ll look dramatic tomorrow. Chloe teased, giggling when Lila swatted at her.

By eight o’clock, the suite smelled faintly of coffee and the remnants of croissants Emily had insisted they order. She came bouncing toward Alina, holding a lush bouquet wrapped in delicate white paper. Her grin was mischievous, eyes dancing.

Alina didn’t need to ask who it was from. The silly little waggle of Emily’s brows gave it away.

“Guess who these are from?” Emily sing-songed.

Alina rolled her eyes but her lips curved into a smile. She took the bouquet, inhaling the fresh fragrance before untying the attached note.

Emily clasped her hands together, positively glowing. “God, he is unreal. Cold and terrifying to the outside world, but to you? He’s the sweetest man alive.”

A warmth spread in Alina’s chest as she unfolded the note, her heart softening at the words written in Lucian’s steady hand. Her smile betrayed her even as she tried to keep it small.

Just then, Talia strolled over, stretching out her arm with a phone in hand. “Your husband-to-be wants to speak to you.” She announced with a grin that was nothing short of devious.

The room erupted instantly. The moment the words “Lucian’s on the phone” left Talia’s mouth, the girls squealed like schoolchildren.

They made exaggerated kissy faces, nudging each other and smirking knowingly.

Alina rolled her eyes so hard it almost hurt. “You are all ridiculous.”

Still, she took the phone, pressing it to her ear. “Hey, husband-to-be.” She greeted softly, unable to keep the fondness from her voice.

Even without seeing him, she could feel his smile through the line. “Hey, wife-to-be.”

The bridesmaids went wild.

“Awwww!” They chorused in unison.

“Oh God, please send me my own man.” Talia groaned dramatically, clutching her chest.

Emily elbowed her with mock offense. “You already have a man, and let me remind you… he’s a hunk of a

man!”

Lucian chuckled through the receiver. “I can see the ladies are up and active.”

Alina sighed, glancing at the chaos around her. “They sure are. They woke me up by bloody five a.m.

“That’s because we’re trying to make you the best bride Velmora has ever seen!” Carina chimed in, tossing her hair like she was on a runway.
