Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 106

Lambert was amused by her and said leisurely, "If you want me to let you off, kiss me once. Tonight, I'll sleep elsewhere."

"Really?"

Ariana looked at him in astonishment, finding it hard to believe!

He gave a slight nod, "Really."

Even though it was previously agreed that Lambert would sleep on the couch, it was much safer for him to sleep outside!

Ariana was half-doubtful, "Then you have to let go of me first!"

Upon hearing her words, Lambert let her go. She hesitated, clutching her 'weapon' tightly, but then heard Lambert warn, "Don't try any tricks, or I might change my mind."

His words thoroughly dispelled her thoughts. She bit her lip, put down the object in her hand, stood on tiptoe, and kissed his lips. Her cheeks turned even more flushed.

Lambert’s lips curled slightly as he lightly touched the lips she had just kissed. He stroked her head and said, “Good girl.”

He let her go this time. Ariana scrambled out of the bathroom in panic.

When Lambert came out, he had changed into his sleepwear, and like their agreement, he left the room.

When Ariana was alone, she felt as if she'd dodged a bullet and quickly went to take her bath.

After Lambert left, he asked the servants to clean the guest room.

Hugh went downstairs for a glass of water and saw his son standing in front of the guest room. "What are you doing..."

Lambert didn't expect to run into his father so late. Before he could think of a reasonable explanation, Hugh patted his shoulder and said understandingly, "Young man, you're still too impatient!"

Lambert noticed that Hugh appeared to have misunderstood something. The corner of his mouth twitched minutely, "Dad…”

Hugh waved his hand, "No need to explain, your dad understands!"

His face was impassive. Even though he hadn't said anything, everything was already understood.

Adopting the stance of one who had experienced this, Hugh said, “You also know, your reputation out there isn’t exactly favorable. With the wedding ceremony today being so fraught, it’s normal if the bride is upset. How could you not learn to accommodate her and resort to sleeping in separate rooms after a quarrel?"

Lambert was rendered speechless for a moment before saying, "Oh?"

"There's an old saying, 'End the quarrel before the end of the day.' On such a rare night, you should not mention other women to the new bride."

He indeed remembered discussing the matter of women with Ariana and raised his eyebrows lightly.

Seeing his son's silence, Hugh guessed that he was mostly correct. He spoke thoughtfully, "Marriage is a long and serious journey, if you don't learn to compromise, how can you be like your mom and dad, who are still in love after more than 30 years?"

He lowered his voice, advising gently, “In fact, all women are the same, they like to be pampered, but you can't always pamper. Occasionally, play hard to get so she always thinks about you."

"Play hard to get?" Lambert picked out the point.

Hugh nodded, "That's right."

He paused for a moment, seeing that his son was unusually contemplative of his words, he sighed, "This is the first time I've seen you disobey your grandfather's orders to do something. Since you like the girl, cherish her."

Both Hugh and Jolene supported Lambert’s marriage to Ariana. Although Lambert appeared to be the infamously wicked son of the Stone family to outsiders, they knew that he rarely demanded anything.

It was one thing dealing with the Stone family, but being disrespectful was another.

After all, she is the daughter of the White Family, she couldn't allow people to disrespectfully gossip about her lack of manners or her family's upbringing. Ariana clutched her head, already aching at the thought.

She couldn't help but feel irritated at Lambert. He woke up early but didn't bother to wake her. She suspected he wanted to see her make a fool out of herself.

Ariana quickly got ready. By the time she went downstairs, it was nearly eleven o'clock.

What she didn't expect was that the entire Stone family was waiting for her at the dining table. The large dining room was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop; the atmosphere was frosty.

Aunt Khloe, upon seeing Ariana descending the stairs, sarcastically said, "Finally she's down! I thought we'd have to wait for her like we did in the morning, never seeing her come down."

Apart from Lambert's parents, everyone else couldn't help but smirk.

Old Mr. Stone said with a grave expression, "You all should say less!"

Seeing Old Mr. Stone getting angry, Khloe dared not to say anything else. She just glared at Ariana with dissatisfaction.

Ariana, now realizing the situation, quickly regained her composure and walked over, calling out, "Grandpa."

Then she turned to Hugh and Jolene and said, "Dad, Mom."

To the rest of the people, Ariana's greetings were more ceremonial, but there was nothing outright wrong about it. Aunt Khloe, who was just scolded by the Old Mr. Stone, dared not say anything more. The rest were not openly hostile towards Ariana, merely nodding stiffly.

A thoughtful maid brought tea and placed it in front of Ariana.

Ariana first offered the tea to the Old Mr. Stone, but since he refused, she handed it to Lambert's father and sweetly called out, "Dad."
