Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 379

On the top floor of a skyscraper that soared over twenty stories high, Ariana gazed at Kiara, who was sitting quietly, eating her meal without uttering a single word. A complex mix of emotions flickered in Ariana's eyes.

After a moment, Ariana finally stirred, walking towards Kiara slowly. Kiara didn't look up, but her body tensed slightly, betraying her unease at Ariana's approach.

Seeing Kiara in such a state, Ariana couldn't help but murmur softly, "Those things have nothing to do with you, Kiara."

Hearing the familiar gentle and forgiving tone, Kiara's eyes reddened as she looked down. Her voice was hoarse as she replied, "I know... thank you, Sister Ariana."

Ariana gently patted her head and sighed softly. "I'm not just comforting you." She then bent down, aligning her gaze with Kiara's. Kiara instinctively wanted to shrink back but feared that doing so might hurt Ariana's feelings. Caught in a dilemma, her eyes wavered with a hint of sadness.

Ariana spoke earnestly and tenderly, "Kiara, what happened with Jane has nothing to do with you. You didn't grow up with her; different environments shape different personalities. I know you're not like Jane." She then chuckled wryly, "Surely you're not worried about whether you might turn out like Jane in the future, are you?"

This statement caught Kiara off guard.

She quickly shook her head, flustered, and explained, "No! That's not it, I didn't mean that!" She was just afraid, afraid that the family she had worked so hard to gain might disappear again.

Moreover, she truly adored her sister, Ariana.

She couldn't bear to leave.

So how could she ever consider whether she might become like Jane in the future? Even if given a hundred chances, she would never betray Sister Ariana and her uncle and aunt. Never, ever would she. In fact, deep down, she harbored some resentment towards Jane. She resented Jane for enjoying so many years of parental and sisterly love.

But Jane had not cherished it.

No one knew how much she had yearned for familial love since she was a child. In the orphanage, her greatest hope was to be adopted, to have a gentle mother and a strict yet loving father.

But that never happened...

Her childhood was a constant struggle against unrelenting hunger. The unexpected warmth of familial love that came her way one day was as surprising as winning the lottery. Suddenly, she had an uncle who treated her like a father, an aunt who cared for her like a mother, and a sister, Ariana, who cherished her as if she were her own.

But all of this... Was shattered by the actions of Jane.

She was at a loss about her place in the White family now. More than anything, she feared that her uncle and aunt might start doubting and being disappointed in her because of Jane.

When Ariana told her that none of this was her fault and that she still considered her a dear sister, how could she not be moved and overjoyed? Yet, it was precisely because she cared so much that she felt slightly restrained and scared—afraid that any small misstep might cause Ariana to dislike her.

Seeing Ariana's disappointment and sadness because of her instinctive reaction, Kiara was immediately frightened.
