It was rare for Allison to be so confrontational. The few times she had lost her temper were all for Ariana's sake. Seeing Allison like this, Ariana felt her eyes grow slightly warm, a wave of warmth flooding her heart.

Beverly, on the other hand, was completely speechless. She could only glare at Allison with venomous eyes, as if her gaze alone could kill. But Allison stood her ground, meeting Beverly's stare with a cold, unflinching expression. The atmosphere in the room grew tense, thick with the scent of an impending battle.

Gwen didn't want to speak. But seeing the situation spiraling out of control, she knew she had to say something to give Beverly a way out, or else she might be blamed later. Reluctantly, Gwen spoke up, her voice soft and hesitant, "Sister-in-law... Alvin is still at home. Since Ariana seems fine now, why don't we head back?"

Beverly finally felt a sense of relief, grateful for the lifeline Gwen had thrown her. But she couldn't help but resent Gwen for not speaking up sooner. She turned her head sharply, shooting a vicious glare at Ariana and Allison. Then, with a triumphant sneer, she said, "Yes, Alvin is waiting for me at home. Gwen lowered her head, saying nothing more.

Allison was seething with anger, her hand twitching as if she was about to slap Beverly. But Ariana shook her head subtly, signaling her to let it go. Reluctantly, Allison held back, though her eyes still burned with fury.

Beverly, satisfied that she had dealt enough emotional damage to Ariana, turned on her heel and headed for the door. Just as she pulled it open, the door was pushed from the other side. Lambert and Stefan stepped in, surprised to see outsiders in the room. Lambert's expression hardened instantly as he took in the scene, his gaze cold and unyielding as he addressed Beverly and Gwen. "Sister-in-law and second sister-in-law, what brings you here to see Ariana today?"

Gwen quickly paled, stammering an explanation, "Well, Aunt and Mom asked us to come and check on Ariana, to comfort her and make sure she doesn't dwell on her sorrows."

Beverly was utterly stunned.

She gazed dazedly at the man she had once gone to great lengths to win over but never succeeded, a pang of pain rising in her heart. She bit her lower lip slightly, her grape-like eyes slowly welling up with a bittersweet sorrow. She murmured softly, "Lambert."

Lambert frowned, instinctively avoiding Beverly's outstretched hand. His expression was indifferent as he said, "Since you've seen enough, please leave now."

After a brief pause, as if remembering something, he added, "The doctor said Ariana needs plenty of rest. If there's nothing important, please don't come to disturb her in the future. You can discuss any matters with my parents." He then turned to his assistant, Assistant Hills, and instructed, "Escort them out."

Assistant Hills nodded, "Yes, Mr. Stone." She then addressed Beverly and Gwen, "Ladies, this way."

Beverly's gaze never met Lambert's, and her heart ached even more. She looked at him with a sour expression, completely ignoring Assistant Hills, and directly asked, "Lambert, how have you been lately?"
