“Not good!”
Charles exhaled sharply, “James is really sneaky! Looks like the game’s over!”
Even though he thought James was a bit underhanded, as long as there were no rule violations, everyone only cared about the results.
“Not necessarily!” Daniel, who had been silent, suddenly spoke up.
Charles didn’t take his eyes off the screen, but couldn’t help his curiosity, “Daniel, why are you so sure? And I’ve noticed you seem to have blind faith in Emily. Don’t tell me you have a thing for her?”
“Even in such a tense race, you can’t keep your mouth shut!”
Daniel’s sarcastic voice came through.
Charles sighed but obediently closed his mouth, continuing to watch the final moments on the screen.
Byron was gripping the steering wheel, his hands sweating from the tension.
“Accelerate, take the turn…”
Emily was beside him, giving serious instructions.
Byron’s forehead was covered in sweat, his eyes bloodshot. Hearing Emily’s words, he bit his lip, floored the gas pedal, and turned the wheel.
But his skills weren’t quite there yet. He struggled to gauge the right angle and maintain the inner lane without flipping over.
As the car accelerated, half of it seemed to lift off the ground.
Emily’s eyes narrowed, and she suddenly reached over to adjust the steering wheel.
The audience collectively gasped, holding their breath as they watched.
James was also taken aback.
He quickly accelerated and turned his wheel.
Both cars took the turn simultaneously.
Bianca, in James’s car, was too scared to notice Emily’s car. The turn was so sharp it felt like she might be thrown out.
“Help, I don’t want to die…”
Bianca screamed uncontrollably, her whole body going limp with fear.

Chapter 108
James was irritated by her screams, which distracted him during the dangerous turn.
His body shook, and he instinctively eased off the gas.
The car slowed down just enough.
Emily and Byron’s car successfully navigated the turn, overtaking James’s car like an arrow shot from a bow.
James’s face darkened with anger.
By the time his car reached the finish line, Emily and Byron’s car was already waiting ahead.
Byron had already gotten out of the car, his legs weak. Colt quickly stepped forward to support him.
Byron motioned for another assistant to help Emily, but she had already stepped out of the car.
Unlike Byron, who was shaky and exhausted, Emily remained calm and composed.
“Ms. Johnson, you’re amazing! If it weren’t for you, I would’ve either lost or ended up in the ICU from that turn!”
Byron, supported by Colt, approached Emily, his voice trembling with emotion, almost kneeling before her.
“Enough, have some dignity! Since I’m your leader and promised to protect you, I naturally follow through!”
Emily, though slightly annoyed, didn’t roll her eyes at Byron.
At that moment, James’s car arrived.
He looked at Emily with a complex expression and walked over step by step.
“James… my legs are weak, I was so scared!”
Bianca’s voice, hoarse and pitiful, called out, but James ignored her, his patience wearing thin.
Just then, Finn rushed over with a stern face.
James didn’t turn to help Bianca; instead, he instructed Finn, “Go help Bianca.”
Then he strode over to Emily.
“You’ve got guts!”
James hadn’t expected Byron to win, realizing it was Emily’s guidance that made the difference. Seeing her standing there, unshaken, he understood she hadn’t panicked and disrupted Byron.
He spoke with a hint of admiration, “I remember when you were just a kid, you fought a grown man over some trash. You’ve always been
brave.”
Emily didn’t know what he was trying to convey and remained silent.

Chapter 108
James turned to Byron, “You won because of luck and Emily’s courage. If it were just you and me, you wouldn’t have won!”
He refused to admit Byron was more skilled.
His words implied Bianca had been a distraction.
Bianca, supported by Finn, heard this and paled even more, her body trembling as if in shock.
Tears streamed down her face, “James, I’m sorry, it’s all my fault for being so useless and scared!”
Her apology, though tearful, was pitiful.

If James continued to blame her, it would make him seem petty. He suppressed his irritation, “It’s not entirely your fault. I didn’t expect you to be so frightened.”
Bianca, initially relieved by his words, suddenly froze, her expression stiffening.
Her mind raced, and she quickly turned to Emily, “Emily, you see, even James is disappointed in me. You don’t need to be jealous. In James’s eyes, you’re still the best. Let’s just consider today’s race a friendly competition and forget about the bet?”
