“Mr. Smith, Ms. Johnson’s in trouble again.”

York showed Daniel the online comments, including some particularly harsh ones and various tweets about Emily.

Daniel’s eyes turned cold as he read the vile words.

“Get all the info on those who insulted Emily, and find out who’s behind this.”

He didn’t ask York to handle it directly. He knew Emily might prefer to take action herself.

So, once York had gathered all the information and identified the mastermind, Daniel sent it straight to Emily.

“The Smith Group’s legal department is at your service anytime. Need anything else from me?”

To Emily, Daniel was like a god, always busy with important matters. Yet, he seemed to be spending a lot of time on her issues.

Emily used to think it was just her imagination, but now she couldn’t shake the feeling.

Could he really like her?

Her heart raced at the thought, almost pounding out of her chest.

Seeing no response from her, Daniel frowned and spoke again, “Don’t feel any burden. I don’t want any mishaps during my treatment.”

His words pushed Emily’s thoughts aside. Maybe he was helping her for that reason alone.

But she wasn’t just any doctor to him, and he was still willing to put in this effort.

“Mr. Smith, don’t worry. I’ll make sure to cure you. For now, I don’t need any more help.”

Getting the information on the mastermind wasn’t difficult for her. But since Daniel had gone out of his way to help, she decided to make some of her special pills for him. Once she detoxified him, he wouldn’t have to worry about such schemes anymore.

She hung up the phone, and the Reyes family called next..

“Mr. Reyes, what’s up?”

After taking Byron under her wing, she now addressed Isaac differently.

Isaac felt quite pleased. He had just heard that Byron received two million dollars from Emily. He didn’t even question how she got the money; his first thought was that following her had its perks.

“Emily, tomorrow is Monday. We have a meeting for the Johnson family collaboration project. Are you free to attend? I’d like to introduce you to the Johnson family, and the project will be fully handed over to you.”

Isaac wanted to deepen his ties with Emily. This was his chance.

“Yes, I’ll have Byron pick you up tomorrow!”

After finishing the call, Emily gathered the evidence and had the security team set up a large screen at the villa’s entrance.

Violette saw Emily heading out and quickly stopped her. “Emily, are you going to deal with Rhett? You can’t go. He’s determined to achieve his goal and might do something crazy. If you go out, he might harass you. You’ve helped me so much already. I don’t want you to get hurt because of us. Let me handle it myself!”

Emily smiled. “He doesn’t have the guts to harm me. Besides, Violette, you’ve seen what I am capable of. I can handle myself. He’s causing trouble and defaming me. I need to deal with this for my own sake. Don’t worry, the security team is here.”

With that, Emily started to walk out.

Violette hesitated but then grabbed Emily’s arm. “Let me go with you. Let’s end this once and for all. If there’s any danger, I can help. Please!”

Violette held onto Emily, determined not to let go until she agreed.

Emily couldn’t refuse Violette.

“Alright, we’ll go together.”

As Emily and Violette approached the entrance, Rhett continued his antics, even rallying some onlookers.

Some “justice warriors” joined in, demanding Emily come out and explain herself.

“Where’s Emily? Come out! Is this really how rich people behave? Who knows what she looks like?”

“Someone just posted her photo online. You can check it out… Wait…”

“Strange, all the links to Emily’s photos are blocked. Must be nice to be rich and pay to hide things. I’m curious how powerful the man behind her is.”
