Chapter 126
“Where’s that barking coming from? I remember the Johnson family cut ties with Emily. She’s got nothing to do with you anymore. What, you think you can just insult a stranger? Are you looking for trouble?”
Sophia was always sharp.
She knew Emily had moved out of the Johnson Villa and severed ties with the Johnson family.
But the Johnson family actually announced it officially on their website. When Sophia saw it, the news spread like wildfire in their social
circles.
Most people, being fans of Bianca, already had a poor impression of Emily and cheered at the news.
Only a few who disliked Bianca or were close to Sophia scoffed at the Johnson family’s actions.
Sophia had vented in their group chat, “The Johnson family is disgusting!”
She had planned to tell Emily about it this morning, but Emily had invited her to meet someone, and in her excitement, she forgot.
Emily seemed in good spirits, not bothered by the Johnson family’s announcement, so Sophia didn’t bring it up again.
But now, she couldn’t hold back.
Emily thought her heart was already shattered beyond feeling pain.
But when the Johnson family deemed her useless and cut ties so ruthlessly, it felt like a dagger stabbing deep into her.
Emily dug her nails into her palm to regain her composure.
She looked at Finn and Bianca with a blank expression. “The Johnson family’s official statement cutting ties with me–don’t tell me you didn’t know. So, what right do you have to question me, Finn Johnson?”
She called his name coldly.
Finn felt a sudden pang of discomfort.
Bianca noticed Finn’s hesitation and quickly said, “Emily, this was Father’s decision. You were disobedient, always out collecting trash, and your behavior was becoming a problem. For the Johnson family’s reputation, we had to make this choice. It’s a wake–up call for you. But don’t worry, even if you’re abandoned by your sugar daddy someday and have no food, I won’t ignore you. You can always come to me.”
“That’s rich! You’re the one with a sugar daddy! Without a man, you wouldn’t have any achievements. You think everyone is like you because that’s how you are.”
Sophia couldn’t hold back her anger.
After she said this, she saw Allan’s surprised expression.
She felt a bit guilty.
Chapter 126
Was Allan disappointed, thinking she was a refined and talented lady, but now seeing her act like a shrew?
But even if Allan thought that, she didn’t regret it.
Sophia straightened her back with renewed confidence. I didn’t say anything wrong.”
“You’re right!”
Allan smiled and nodded in agreement.
Sophia’s fondness for Allan grew. He had good judgment; no wonder Emily trusted him. He wasn’t easily fooled by Bianca.
“Allan, you might be mistaken. Emily was disobedient and left the Johnson family’s comfortable life. She moved back on her own. You know, a young girl with no money living in a villa–her family was worried she’d go astray. This was a warning to make her wake up.”
Bianca’s explanation was actually a smear against Emily.
Sophia was ready to roll up her sleeves for a fight.
But Allan suddenly laughed, a meaningful laugh. “You say Emily has no money?”
If Emily truly lacked money, she could sell one of her paintings for millions of dollars. How could she be poor?
Bianca didn’t catch Allan’s implication and nodded. “Yeah? Allan, you don’t actually think Emily’s loaded, do you? Don’t let her fool you. She might’ve promised you money for something today, but she probably can’t deliver.”
She pretended to cover her mouth, feigning an accidental slip, and apologized to Emily. “Oops, sorry, Emily. I didn’t mean to say that.”
“How fake!” Sophia scoffed.
Emily didn’t get angry. Instead, she asked, “So, why are you here? I heard you also participated in this art exhibition. Is your painting one
of mine?‘
Bianca’s face twisted in annoyance.
Damn.
Was Emily threatening her?
Too bad, even if she used Emily’s painting, what could Emily do?
But she didn’t use a painting Emily remembered. She used a special one, painted when Emily was drunk, missing the final touches. Emily probably didn’t remember it.
Bianca’s smile returned. “Emily, your memory is impressive. I knew you liked me, but were too shy to admit it. But you guessed wrong. I didn’t use your painting. The ones I submitted aren’t yours. If you’re curious, come to the exhibition.”
‘Witness my rise to fame.‘
Chapter 126
Emily’s eyes darkened.
She was puzzled.
Bianca’s painting being selected couldn’t be her own work. There were only two possibilities: Bianca bought someone else’s painting or used one of Emily’s.
But Bianca was too confident. Could she really not use Emily’s?
Emily suppressed her doubts and turned to Allan. “I can’t get her to reveal her purpose. Why don’t you ask her directly?”
Bianca didn’t want to reveal her purpose in front of Emily, so she used the painting to provoke her. But Emily remained calm.
Did Emily think Allan would listen to her? Allan, a talented artist with a good family and connections, wouldn’t just follow Emily’s words.
But the next moment, Bianca’s face fell.
“Miss, what do you want from me?”
Allan was ruthless.
He directly denied knowing Bianca.
Bianca’s face turned ugly, her eyes reddening with frustration.
Finn couldn’t stand it, but didn’t act impulsively. He said, “Allan, you’re Dane’s brother, right? I’m his friend. He introduced us. Bianca submitted her painting, and you selected it for the exhibition. That painting…”
