“Get lost! Who do you think you are, demanding Ms. Johnson’s company?”

Byron couldn’t hold back his anger. He’d always been a bit of a hothead, and now he couldn’t help himself. He stepped forward and kicked the security captain.

The security captain hadn’t expected Byron to be so bold, kicking him without hesitation. He was sent sprawling to the ground.

‘Zaid, are you okay?”

Other employees quickly helped Zaid up.

“How dare you cause trouble at the Johnson Group! Guards, arrest these people and give them a good beating!”

A group of security guards surrounded Isaac and his team.

Isaac’s face turned red with anger.

He was the president of the Reyes Group, someone who commanded respect wherever he went. Even Eli had to treat him with utmost courtesy. And now, he was being humiliated like this.

“Stop! Do you know who we are?” Isaac shouted.

The security guards hesitated, looking at Zaid for guidance. “Zaid, should we really go through with this? What if they are important people? We can’t afford to offend them. Look at their clothes; they don’t seem ordinary.”

Some of the guards were perceptive and cautious, so they didn’t act immediately.

Zaid sneered, “What are you afraid of? They can’t be more important than the Johnson Group. My backer is the Johnson Group. These people are nothing.”

His perspective was limited.

In his mind, anyone more important than the Johnson Group would be personally welcomed by Eli.

Zaid wasn’t entirely wrong.

But Isaac had specifically requested not to be greeted by Eli.

He wanted to bring Emily along to make a statement.

He hadn’t expected to encounter such a frustrating situation.

Isaac regretted it and apologized to Emily, “Emily, look at this mess. I know your father isn’t very capable, but it seems he’s even worse than I thought.”

Emily, however, was smiling happily.

It was good. It would save her the trouble of convincing the Reyes Group’s shareholders not to collaborate with the Johnson Group on the next project.

Now that Isaac had seen this, he would naturally support her in the future.

‘It’s better to see it clearly now, isn’t it, Mr. Reyes?”

The two chatted as if no one else was around, which annoyed Zaid.

“What are you talking about? How dare you ignore me! Grab that woman first; she’s deliberately provoking me!”

Zaid saw that Emily was quite attractive and seemed to have a fiery personality. He licked his lips and ordered the other guards.

The guards moved to act.

Isaac and Byron instinctively shielded Emily and Sophia.

Though Isaac and Byron had their flaws, their instinct to protect women was deeply ingrained, which was commendable.

Emily, however, pulled Isaac and Byron behind her just as they were about to face the guards‘ batons.

Then, several silver needles flew out.

A series of painful cries followed, causing the guards who were about to charge to halt.

Zaid frowned, “What’s going on? Are you pretending to fall to avoid fighting?”

“Yeah, me too.”

“Me too!”

The fallen guards echoed.

Zaid’s face turned very ugly.

Was this some kind of ghostly encounter?

He was from the countryside and had heard many strange stories about ghosts growing up. He believed that they were all true.

Now, he was so scared his legs were trembling.

Emily didn’t care if Zaid was scared by his imagination. She turned to Isaac.

“Mr. Reyes, given the situation, shouldn’t you call Eli and tell him we’re ready to leave?”

If Isaac really “left,” Eli would be furious.

Chapter 128

Isaac understood Emily’s intention–to scare Ell.

He immediately made a call.

Eli was in his office, complaining.

“Isaac is something else. He said he was coming but didn’t want me to greet him. It’s so late, and he’s still not here. Just wait until this project is over and we’ve partnered with the Smith family. Then Isaac will be begging for cooperation.”

Eli chuckled at his own thoughts.

Just then, Isaac’s call came through.

Eli quickly changed his tone, smiling warmly, “Isaac, we really are in sync. I was just about to call you to ask if you encountered any trouble. Why aren’t you here yet?”

Isaac snorted, “Trouble indeed, thanks to you. If you don’t want to cooperate with the Reyes Group, just say so! Why did you send a bunch of guards to stop me from coming upstairs? If that’s the case, I’ll be leaving.”

Eli was startled.

“No, Isaac, it’s a misunderstanding! Wait, I’ll come down and personally escort you up.”

Eli hurriedly stopped Isaac from hanging up.

Isaac sneered, “I wouldn’t dare trouble you. Your guards are so capable, and you must be even more so! Besides, by the time you come down, who knows if your guards will have beaten us up.”

He mentioned the guards twice.

Eli immediately understood the problem was with the guards.

He was genuinely worried the guards might have done something inappropriate to Isaac and his team. He quickly called the security office.

The guards were already hesitant after hearing Isaac’s call.

So they hadn’t continued their actions.
