Chapter 130
“Look, I earned this position and these shares fair and square. Whether I prove it or not, they’re mine. But since you really want to know, I’ll give you a chance.”
Emily pulled out a file and tossed it in front of the key members of the Johnson Group project.
“Check it out. These are the optimized data and methods based on the original project manager’s work. If you have any doubts, go ahead and point them out. I can explain everything!”
The group glanced at the file and then looked at Eli.
Eli, despite his dislike for Emily and fear that she might mess things up, was willing to accept her in the position if it truly benefited the project. Ultimately, Eli valued the final outcome the most.
He nodded, and the group prepared to take a look.
Bianca’s eyes lit up with a thought, and the file was already in her hands.
“Let me take a look first. If Emily’s plan has major issues, I can warn her in advance to avoid embarrassing herself in front of Mr. Reyes.”
Bianca knew that Emily must have prepared thoroughly before presenting the file. Even if she had to nitpick, she was determined to find some flaws.
Emily didn’t stop Bianca. As Bianca flipped through the pages, Emily mocked, “Bianca, I’m not underestimating you, but can you even understand these data and methods?”
Bianca’s face turned sour. She wanted to retort fiercely, claiming she could understand everything. But as she continued reading, the professional terms and the origins of the data left her bewildered. She genuinely couldn’t comprehend it.
Despite this, Bianca refused to admit it and pointed at a random line.
“Of course I understand, Emily. Why don’t you explain this data? It seems problematic to me.”
Bianca randomly pointed, thinking Emily couldn’t possibly understand it either and had likely outsourced the work. She expected Emily to be unable to explain it clearly.
Emily glanced at the line and couldn’t help but smile.
Bianca frowned, ‘Why are you laughing? Emily, you don’t understand this either, do you? If you found someone capable of doing this, why not let them take charge directly? Laughing to cover up your ignorance is pointless.”
‘I’m laughing at your stupidity. You can’t even understand a simple title and want me to explain it!”
Emily snatched the file from Bianca’s hand and handed it to the key members of the Johnson Group. “Let’s leave professional matters to professionals. Please take a look. While I still have time, raise any questions immediately. If there are no issues today, I hope we won’t waste too much time during the second phase of the project with unnecessary problems.”
Her straightforward words revealed her character–decisive and efficient, yet genuinely committed to her work. The team naturally preferred a leader like her over someone who pretended to understand the project but only caused delays.
Chapter 130
The group began reviewing the file, nodding in approval and murmuring praises.
Occasionally, they had questions.
“Ms. Johnson, here…”
Ms. Johnson, could you explain why this arrangement is necessary?”
Their questions stemmed from their limited knowledge compared to Emily’s comprehensive understanding. Emily patiently explained, even expanding on certain points when necessary, earning their deep admiration and praise.
Mr. Eli Johnson, Ms. Emily Johnson’s optimization of the project has increased both production and sales by over twenty percent. We are very willing to work with Ms. Emily Johnson!”
The Johnson Group’s representative spoke on behalf of everyone.
Eli looked at Emily with a complex expression. Did she really have this capability? He recalled how she had previously made critical suggestions for the company, seeking his praise. Now, she had directly joined the Johnson Group project. Was she trying to get his attention through her abilities?
If she truly had talent, Eli wouldn’t mind letting her return to the Johnson family. Although he wouldn’t retract the official statements, he could treat her better privately.
“Mr. Eli Johnson, do you still doubt my judgment in selecting people? Since your team has acknowledged Ms. Emily Johnson, do you have any further objections?” Isaac asked with a half–smile.
Eli didn’t get angry. Instead, he looked at Emily and said, “Since you have this ability, you should focus on your work. Bullying and envying Bianca are petty matters.”
Bianca felt displeased. Although Emily was mocked, her abilities were ultimately recognized. She knew that real power and shares were more important than others‘ affection.
Eli extended his hand, “Welcome to the project.”
Emily looked at Eli’s respectful handshake but felt no emotional ripple. She had once yearned for recognition, but now she stood tall and no longer needed anyone’s validation,
Before Emily could respond, Finn jumped in, “Dad, are you out of your mind? She probably had someone else do the plan and fooled you all. It seems your team lacks the necessary capabilities. I suggest replacing them. I don’t believe Emily has this ability.”
His words made the key members‘ faces darken. Since Finn didn’t care about maintaining decorum, they saw no need to hold back.
“Mr. Finn Johnson, if you don’t value us, we can resign and leave!”
“Then go ahead!”
Before Finn could finish, Eli slapped him, leaving him stunned.
“Dad…”
Chapter 130
“Don’t call me Dad. I’ve told you to focus on the company, but you waste time on games. Go home; you have no say here.”
Eli had once secretly mocked Isaac for having only one son, who was a useless playboy. But now, his four sons were excelling in variou fields, while he was embarrassed in front of Isaac.
