Chase frowned. “Emily, what are you doing? Show some respect to Dr. Larson. If you upset him and mess up Aurora’s treatment, don’t blame me for coming down hard on you.”

Dwayne, who had been feeling guilty under Emily’s questioning and recording, suddenly regained his confidence thanks to Chase’s words. Chase clearly didn’t know he was a fraud and probably thought they had some personal beef.

“Of course, I’m the highly skilled doctor. Only I can treat this illness. Whatever issues you have with them, they have nothing to do with me,” Dwayne said, implying they shouldn’t interfere with his treatment.

Bianca immediately put on a pitiful act. “Emily, even if you hate me, you shouldn’t disturb Dr. Larson while he’s treating Aurora. Can’t you see how much worse she’s getting?”

She then turned to James, pleading, “James, Emily must be acting like this because of our engagement. Otherwise, why would she follow us here? But I only got engaged to you after she broke off the engagement. Can you please talk to her? Don’t let personal issues affect Aurora’s treatment.”

James looked at Emily with a complicated expression. He seemed to forget that they had actually hired a fake doctor to replace Emily. He just figured she must still have feelings for him, or she wouldn’t have followed them here.

“Emily, you were the one who decided to break off the engagement. What are you doing now? Listen, I’ll give you a chance to talk about the engagement after Dr. Larson finishes treating Ms. Rivera,” James said, thinking he was being gentle and reasonable.

Bianca, hearing that James still wanted to get back with Emily, felt a surge of anger but managed to hide it. She had to act magnanimous. “Emily, if you want to get back with James, I’ll step aside. Just please, don’t harm my baby, okay?” Bianca said, looking down and gently touching her stomach, appearing weak and helpless.

James couldn’t help but add, “If you want to reconcile with me later, you can. But you need to apologize to Bianca and accept her baby. After the baby is born, we can say it’s yours. After all, you two are related by blood, right?”

Emily almost laughed out of anger. She hadn’t come here for this nonsense but to deal with the fake doctor.

Chase, concerned about Aurora, tried to stay rational. “Emily, can you stop bothering Bianca and James with this nonsense? You can discuss your issues later in private. Right now, I need Dr. Larson to treat Aurora.”

Emily’s eyes narrowed as she stared down Dwayne. “Alright, let’s talk about the doctor thing. You claim to be the highly skilled doctor, right? So, you’re not innocent of impersonating him. Are you gonna leave now, or do you want me to expose you? I’m warning you, Ms. Rivera’s illness is way beyond your capability.”

Dwayne felt a moment of panic under Emily’s intense gaze, but quickly brushed it off. She was just a young woman; what could she possibly do?

He sneered, “If I can’t treat her, who can? Certainly not you! I’ll treat her right now, and you stay out of my way,”

Chase was about to kick Emily out. “Emily, I don’t have time for this. Leave before I lose my temper.”

Emily’s face turned icy. “Chase, think carefully. If you let this fake doctor treat Aurora, don’t expect me to help later.

“What do you mean, fake doctor?” Chase asked, frowning. He didn’t want to deal with Emily, but had to because of Aurora.

Bianca panicked and quickly said, “Emily, what are you talking about? You’ve never met the real, highly skilled doctor. How do you know who he is? Don’t say things that could upset Dr. Larson and jeopardize Aurora’s treatment.”

James stepped forward. “Emily, come outside with me. Don’t interfere with Dr. Larson’s work. This is a matter of life and death. You, of all people, should understand that.”

Emily sidestepped him, looking coldly at the two of them. “You both know the truth. Why pretend? I didn’t come here to stop the treatment, but this illness is beyond his ability. And I won’t let anyone use my name to treat patients. I won’t take responsibility for that.”

“Emily, why have you changed so much? You used to be kind. Now you’re lying and claiming to be the highly skilled doctor. Do you have any proof? James, you’ve known Emily the longest. Have you ever seen her treat anyone?” Bianca tried to pull James to her side, feeling more confident that Emily had no proof.

James added, “Emily, Bianca is only trying to help Aurora. If you can’t do the same, don’t stop her. I remember you used to be so kind, even feeding stray cats despite our tough times.”
