Rebirth Top Star Actress novel Chapter 144

Chapter 144

“Dr. Johnson, you’re really putting us on a pedestal here.” Emily said with a grin as she watched several big names in the medical field

walk in.

These were people anyone with even a passing interest in medicine would recognize. Even those who didn’t follow the medical world close might have seen one of them on TV or in the news.

Bianca’s face went pale. She bit her lip, trying to stay calm. Emily was probably bluffing, she thought. Maybe these people didn’t know who the mysterious doctor was either. She refused to believe that Emily was the highly skilled doctor everyone was talking about.

“Dr. Ryan, what brings you here? You can’t just take Emily’s side because she’s your student and come here to give false testimony, Bianca said, trying to undermine Floyd’s credibility before he could speak.

Floyd snorted. “I remember you, Bianca. Last time, you questioned Emily’s skills with lies, and you haven’t learned your lesson. Now you’re trying to pass off someone else as the skilled doctor. You have no medical ethics and don’t deserve to be a doctor.”

Bianca staggered back, her eyes welling up with tears. “Dr. Ryan, I told you that what happened last time was a misunderstanding. I was only looking out for Emily. Are you really going to hold that against me and help her lie? Medical skills don’t lie. If he can cure Ms. Rivera, and even you couldn’t do it back then, doesn’t that prove Dwayne is the skilled doctor?”

James supported Bianca as she stumbled. He glared at Floyd. “Dr. Ryan, right? Emily has always been jealous of Bianca’s success. You might have misjudged her. This doctor is the real deal.”

Chase, seeing James speak up, believed them. “Dr. Ryan, don’t ruin your reputation over Emily. You’ll regret it. Let Dr. Larson treat my

friend.”

“Dwayne, Floyd might not know you, but do you know me?”

Dwayne’s face changed when he saw Floyd. He knew Floyd, but with James from the Smith family backing him, he decided to keep up the

act.

At that moment, another elderly figure, Efrain Hubbard, well-known in the medical community, stepped forward. When Dwayne saw Efrain, his face turned ashen. He quickly approached. “Dr. Hubbard, what brings you here? I only managed to understand this illness from an ancient text. No one else could treat it. We should focus on the patient first.”

Dwayne almost bowed to Efrain, but James’s warning look stopped him. Weighing his options, Dwayne chose his words carefully.

Efrain hadn’t expected Dwayne to deny his mistakes even now. Emily stepped forward, addressing Chase. “I’m telling you, this man is a fraud. Are you sure you want him to treat Aurora?”

“Chase, don’t you trust me?” Bianca asked, her tone sharp, as if ready to cut ties if he didn’t.

Chase, recalling Bianca’s usual kindness, decided to believe her. “Of course, I trust Bianca and her teacher.”

“Alright, let’s see how you treat her,” Emily said, staying put but not intervening.

Dwayne, now feeling the heat, knew he had to cure Aurora to avoid further trouble. He quickly took her pulse. In his eagerness to win, he ignored subtle signs of something wrong. Confidently, he said, “I can treat her. With acupuncture and my prescription, she’ll recover.”

Chase, relieved, urged him to proceed. “Great, please start. Money is no issue.”

Dwayne nodded, “Don’t worry. I’m sincere in treating patients. Watch me one her.

He began the acupuncture. As he inserted the needles, Autora’s complexion seemed to improve. Blanca, saring this, fett secure. She shot a triumphant look at Emily and said, “Chase, I told you Dr. Larson could do it. But don’t be too hard on Enilly. She only caused troghle because she dislikes me. I’m willing to take the blame it it helps you and Ms. Rivera.”

James, relieved, added, “Emily, see? This is a capable doctor. You owe Dr. Larson and Bianca an apology for your misunderstanding

She’s not cured yet, and you’re already celebrating. Anyone would think you’re Emily’s enemies. It’s good she cut ties with you, one of the medical experts said, defending Emily.

Bianca’s eyes were filled with jealousy and hatred for Emily. She thought Emily was worthless and only her shadow. Why did these people favor her?
