Revenge Wears My Ring novel Chapter 182

He bent down quickly, snatching his suit jacket from the floor and slinging it carelessly over his arm. With a rough swipe of his hand, he tried to erase the ferocity etched into his features.

Facing the towering windows, he straightened his crooked tie, drew a deep breath, and forced his lips into something resembling calm.

“Come in.” His voice was still tinged with a raw edge.

The door swung open. Queenie stepped in gracefully, balancing two cups of coffee. Her poise was impeccable.

She took in the chaos scattered across the floor, but acted as if she neither saw the mess nor sensed the storm of rage still lingering in the air.

Her face wore the perfect expression—gentle, with just a hint of concern and tenderness.

It was the look she always reserved for Julian.

Duncan’s lackey had “invited” her up, so she’d already heard the gossip swirling in the lobby and the tales of Julian’s murderous mood.

This was exactly the opportunity she needed.

She set a cup of coffee on the only clean corner of Julian’s desk, then walked around behind him.

Her slender, cool fingers landed deliberately on his tense temples, massaging with just the right amount of pressure.

“Julian…” Her voice was soft and soothing, laced with a kind of magic that calmed the soul.

“Don’t let them get to you. It’s not worth making yourself sick over people like that.”

Julian tensed at her touch, but under her practiced gentleness, some of the tension in his body eased.

He closed his eyes, letting the chill of her fingertips numb his anger, if only for a moment.

Queenie watched him, her eyes flashing briefly with malice.

“There are ways to deal with him, you know.”

She pressed deeper into his temples.

At her words, Julian’s eyes flew open. He grabbed her wrist, holding her so tightly she winced.

A feverish, desperate light ignited in his gaze, his voice hoarse and low.

“You have a plan? What is it? Tell me!”

Queenie pouted, feigning annoyance and a hint of playful pride as she withdrew her hand.

“I’ve had my eye on that new limited edition crocodile Birkin…” she teased.

Julian couldn’t have cared less about handbags right now.

If she could help him bring down Bennett, if she could make him pay—he’d give her anything.
