Everyone in the room held their breath—whether it was the wealthy elite in attendance or the thousands glued to their screens, all were desperate for a glimpse of what Master Nimbus was about to unveil.
The host’s voice, pitched with just the right touch of excitement, carried through the hall and into the livestream:
“Ladies and gentlemen, our first charity auction item of the night—”
He paused deliberately, drawing out the suspense, before announcing with great ceremony:
“This is where it all began—the very first piece from Master Nimbus’ illustrious career!”
Those last three words—“first piece”—crackled through the air like water hitting hot oil, igniting a frenzy of curiosity and anticipation.
No starting bid was set, only adding to the sense of mystery.
Everyone craned their necks, eager and tense, imagining what sort of brilliance this prodigy had shown at the very dawn of their career.
The chat stream on the livestream exploded with messages:
“Can’t wait!”
“This is going to be legendary!”
“We’re witnessing history!”
The velvet curtain parted slowly under a thousand expectant eyes. A spotlight snapped to life, illuminating the “piece” inside a polished display case of bulletproof glass.
And then—
The moment the crowd saw what lay within, a peculiar, almost surreal silence settled over the entire hall.
Even the livestream chat froze for a heartbeat.
There, under glass, lay a single drawing. The paper was slightly yellowed, its edges curled with childish abandon.
On it, drawn in the clumsy colors of cheap crayons, was a wobbly little house. The lines were crooked, the colors wild and unrestrained—the roof teetered as if about to fly off.
Next to it, scrawled in uneven letters, were the words:
my home.
This… this…
This was unmistakably the doodle of a preschooler, dashed off without a care.
Naïve? That didn’t even begin to cover it.
It was innocent to the point of hilarity.
“Talk about a ‘first piece’...” someone in the audience couldn’t help but mutter under their breath, voicing what everyone was thinking.
“No kidding… definitely a first,” another replied dryly, their tone a medley of confusion and amusement.
“Truly… remarkable,” someone else choked out, barely suppressing laughter.
After a stunned pause, the livestream chat exploded in a flurry of exclamations and teasing:
[No way! A true first piece—honest to a fault!]
[Master Nimbus: Bet you never expected to see my embarrassing past!]
[This is… deeply artistic (lol, please don’t ban me!)]
