Revenge Wears My Ring novel Chapter 299

The car’s interior became instantly quiet and private, shutting out the outside world.

Gwyneth finally exhaled, feeling the heat still lingering on her cheeks.

She turned, glancing at the man beside her as he started the engine. Her heart was still racing a little as she half-chided, half-teased, “Bennett, what are you doing here?”

And in such a dramatic fashion, no less!

Bennett, hearing the mock-accusation in her voice, turned his head and looked at her. The faintest trace of a smile played across his lips—a smile that could topple empires.

His tone was so casual, as if what he’d done was the most natural thing in the world. “I’m here to pick up my wife from work. Why, is that not allowed?”

The way he said "my wife"—his voice low and smooth—left no room for doubt. There was an unmistakable intimacy and possessiveness in the way he claimed her.

Gwyneth’s heart skipped a beat. Her cheeks warmed again.

She dropped her gaze, her fingers unconsciously curling in her lap.

She wasn’t sure exactly when it had started—when this man, who was supposed to be her husband in name only, had quietly and insistently worked his way into the deepest part of her heart.

Not only did she no longer mind his nearness, she realized she was starting to look forward to it.

The unfamiliar feeling left her a little flustered, but she couldn’t help savoring it.

Seeing her lower her head again out of habit, Bennett’s eyes softened with a smile. He got to the real reason he was here. “There’s a charity auction tonight hosted by G-B Group. It’s fairly exclusive—should be interesting. Would you care to join me, Mrs. Boyd?”

Gwyneth looked up.

An auction?

She was genuinely intrigued.

G-B Group’s auctions were known for their rare and high-end collections—a perfect opportunity to broaden her horizons, and maybe even spot an investment worth pursuing.
