Chapter 346
Both Emily and Jeremy knew of each other’s connections to Zack, yet neither had mentioned it before.
Emily thought, Why is Jeremy asking this now?’ In an instant, she got why he suddenly came close to her. His true target had always been Zack.
Zack had been sent to St. Gabriel Reform Academy by Jeremy and had been dead for a long time. Emily knew that Jeremy bringing him up now was definitely not a good sign.
She had long learned from Zack what kind of man Jeremy was, so before today, she definitely wouldn’t admit that Zack had told her anything about him.
However, since there were shady things involving Jeremy and Lydia, she certainly wouldn’t let such an opportunity slip
away.
After thinking for a bit, Emily said, “Aren’t we sharing secrets? If you want to know what Zack told me so badly, how about you show a little sincerity first?
“Well, maybe start with the secrets about Lydia, whom I despise most, but has been hanging out with you lately.”
Jeremy never hid his dealings with Lydia, so he didn’t need to find a special time when he decided to see her.
Lydia, on the other hand, kept their relationship under wraps, not wanting anyone to know. After all, she had plans from the start when she got close to Jeremy.
When Jeremy asked Lydia out, she was on a date with Vincent. Vincent had been busy lately, so she was happy to get his
attention.
Usually, Lydia was the one who made the first move, so when Jeremy asked her out, she agreed right away.
Vincent was basically hers, but chances to win over Jeremy didn’t come around often. Lydia knew exactly where her priorities lay.
She said, “Sorry, Vincent. I suddenly remembered Emily had me do some files last night that are due this afternoon. I need to go back to work.”
She took the chance to throw dirt on Emily.
Vincent knew Lydia had joined Emily’s team. He believed her excuse, but he still frowned. “Now? Wait, is she making things hard for you?”
Lydia lowered her head, her expression full of grievance. “This is my first time handling that stuff, so I’m bound to slip up. Emily said I gotta toughen up quickly.”
“That’s bullshit. She’s clearly giving you a hard time.” Vincent was pissed. “Don’t listen to her. I’ll talk to her.”
Lydia looked touched, but she quickly shook her head. “It’s fine. Doing more means I learn more. She’s my leader now. If I behave better, maybe she’ll stop picking on me.”
Vincent didn’t agree with Lydia, but he could never say no to her. A few sweet words later, he agreed and walked her off.
Before the car was even out of sight, Vincent’s phone suddenly rang. It was an unknown number, but the voice on the other end was Emily’s.

Before Vincent could figure out when Lydia and Jeremy had grown so close, or why she had lied to him, he heard a familiar voice from the laptop.
It was Lydia’s voice. “Jeremy, the coffee smells so good. You should try it,” Lydia said with a pure smile, holding out the cup she had been drinking from.
A bit of foam clung to her lips as she looked up at Jeremy with innocent eyes, hoping he would take a sip.
As her fiancé, Vincent had seen that expression countless times before, but it had always been him sitting across from her.
Vincent frowned a little, feeling something off but couldn’t quite place it. Still, because he trusted Lydia completely, he didn’t think much of it and just kept watching.
Jeremy kept his gentle smile, like he was used to Lydia’s little acts.
He casually adjusted his collar, making sure the button faced Lydia, then said in a relaxed tone, “Actually, I don’t like coffee, but still, thank you for sharing it with me. I bet it tastes as sweet as you.”
His teasing words made Lydia blush instantly. She set down her coffee and gave Jeremy a playful glare.
Jeremy’s smile grew wider. “Ms. Bennett, you’ve asked me out for meals and shopping so many times. Don’t you have something to say to me?”
Lydia blinked, looking all innocent. “I just think of you as my best friend. Isn’t it totally normal for friends to hit the mall and grab dinner together?”

“Just friends?” Jeremy raised an eyebrow. “I thought you were dropping hints. Well, I’m really curious now. Do you have a feeling for me?”
