“The last guest has arrived!” The director announced. He felt a wave of relief and swiftly changed the subject.

Renee glanced over and recognized the man in the wheelchair.

He was strikingly handsome with a fair complexion, exuding a refined and gentle aura that paradoxically suggested he was concealing his true power.

From a distance, the man caught her gaze and his eyes twinkled with a subtle smile directed only at her.

“Kristopher?” Renee was taken aback.

“Is he the mysterious man who paid your purchases for you at the auction?” Sarah quirked an eyebrow in curiosity.

Renee gave a nod.

The production team was dumbfounded.

How was it that Renee seemed to know everyone?

“Please meet Mr. Kristopher Wright, a renowned photographer,” the director introduced him to the group.

Renee thought his statement sounded odd, as if he meant for her to hear it.

Was she imagining things?

“I didn’t get to thank you at the Hagua auction. I…”

“It was nothing,” Kristopher cut her off, knowing what Renee was about to say. “Miss Hudson, if you keep being so formal with me, I’ll get upset.”

The idea of him getting upset felt strangely personal.
