KEEP IT TOGETHER
-RICHARD’S POV-
I felt my blood boil as I stormed into the house after that fucking annoying gala. To think it was the most infuriating affair I had been to in a while.
“I shouldn’t have even bothered going,” I muttered to myself as I made my way into the living room. That Alexander bastard only got on my nerves and Claire…
{FLASHBACK}
“Leaving you was the best thing that ever happened to me.”
{PRESENT}
How dare she say such unsavoury words to me?! And there was no way she could feel that way. The way she winked and flirted despite what she said had to count for something.
“Just who in the world are you talking to?” Monica said, interrupting my thoughts as she came down from the stairs.
“Nothing that’s of concern to you.”
“It would be a pity if you had finally lost it this early.”
“What are you even talking about?”
“Oh come on. Gossip travels fast Richard.” She said as she walked up to me, her expression cold and calculating, as if she was thinking about every word she was going to say next.
“What?”
“Not only did you give in to that woman and cave from being within two feet of her, but you were also having quite the sour face and trying to flirt with her tonight at the party?”
How did she-
“Don’t bother asking me how I know. Get your fucking act under control or I’m going to do it for you. I can’t have my “beloved” husband going around messing with his ex–wife can I? Don’t you dare mess up. Claire would never want something to do with a loser like you.‘
))
“SHUT UP!”
“Awwn is little man feeling a bit triggered?”
“Monica, watch your words.”
“I keep telling you, quit it. She doesn’t want anything to do with you.”
“Stop saying that shit like I’m going to cheat on you or something. We are married.”

“Mhm. I’ll believe your words when you don’t moan her name in bed when you’re about to cum.”
“Monica!” I yelled as guilt held me like a vice. She wasn’t going to let me forget that in a while.
“Yes, Richard?”
“I am sorry for that. I sincerely am.”
“Mhm.” She grinned at my obvious scowl of displeasure and went up the stairs.

Deep down, I knew that I couldn’t let or even afford for Claire to make me do unreasonable things. It was a, silly thing to do if clearly looked at but it was totally her fault for coming back like this.
She kept lying but I saw the look in her eyes, if I played my cards right, she would be at my feet in no time. “She’s going to be mine and I would make damn sure of it.“Monica was just going to have to deal with it.

-MONICA’S POV~
I observed Richard as he stared into the distance and I couldn’t help but feel irritated by the obvious fantasy on his face.
The only one who made him have such an expression was Claire and she was going to sink her claws into him but I had my own plans.
There was no way I was going to let her think she could win. Not even a chance. He may have been keeping close to the illusion that they could be a thing but I’d rather get rid of him first.
I grinned to myself as an idea came to mind.
All it needed was a little touch–up and it was sure to make Claire back off. It was a good thing I wasn’t sleeping in the same room as Richard, it would give me more than enough time to think and carry it out.
She was no longer interested in him but the bitch sure as hell better not get any ideas.

Three hours later, I finished up with the audio clip I had made and sent it to her. There was every assurance that she would be on her phone at this time. I could even bet on it.
“And in three, two, one.”
My phone began to ring and I grinned as her caller ID popped up on my screen. It was show time.
“Who the hell is this?”
“Wow Claire, that’s rude, even for you” There was silence on the other end of the line as if she was trying to register who was talking.
“Monica?”
