But just as he was about to twist and break it, he suddenly realized that under the covers, both he and the woman were completely naked.

The woman was facing away from him, her beautiful shoulder blades–covered by thick black hair–marked by all kinds of deep and shallow hickeys. It was obvious just how wild they had been last night.

Sterling’s pupils contracted sharply.

He had only just escaped an assassination attempt last night and returned to his own room. So how had he ended up in a completely unfamiliar place, with a woman he was absolutely sure he’d never touched?

He looked down at his own hands.

Logic told him that, whatever the scheme, the only safe option was to eliminate all potential threats. But the faint scent of roses at his nose made it impossible for him to act.

The woman rolled over, nestling into his arms.

Furious, he wanted to shove her away.

But she was even quicker, wrapping herself around his waist and pressing a kiss to his chest. With her eyes still closed, she whined, “Stop it, I’m really tired.”

She kept pressing closer to him.

Sterling’s hand reflexively pressed against her most vulnerable spot.

Knock, knock, knock! Suddenly, there was a string of rapid knocks at the door.

But the knocking seemed to come from low to the ground.

Wait, there is a little kid in the house?

No, wait, there was also a dog–he could hear the patter of four paws on the floor.

Sterling felt this morning was utterly absurd.

Everything here was unfamiliar, totally alien to his own life.

Just then, Claudia, who’d still been half–asleep, suddenly opened her eyes wide. She shoved the dazed Sterling aside and hurried to find her clothes on the giant bed.

“This is all your fault! Why didn’t you help me get dressed? What if Leah comes in because we left the door open?”

She even kicked him in annoyance.

After searching for a while, she realized there were no clothes to be found. The only things left were the remains of her clothes, ripped to shreds.

She flopped back down, pouted, and kicked Sterling again, whose face was cycling through a rainbow of emotions after being scolded and hit. “Go find me something to wear.”
