She Died With My Name on Her Lips novel Chapter 4

Watching the two of them wrapped up in each other, Louisa couldn’t stand it anymore.

She got up and left the restaurant, driving straight into the night. The neon lights outside smeared into bright, blurry streaks as tears kept slipping down her cheeks, no matter how many times she tried to wipe them away.-

She thought she was numb by now. She thought nothing could hurt her anymore. Clearly, she was wrong.

Suddenly, a flash of white shot out from the roadside.

Bang!

The car jolted to a stop with a sickening crash.

Louisa’s whole body shook. She looked up, heart pounding, and saw a figure tossed through the air before landing hard on the pavement right in front of her.

Was that Louise?

Panic flooded her veins. She scrambled out, legs barely holding her up, and ran over. Sure enough, there was Louise on the ground, blood spreading fast beneath her.

“Lou!” Stephen’s voice ripped through the night.

He came charging over, wild with fear, and scooped Louise into his arms. The look he gave Louisa was pure hatred.

“Louisa, wasn’t it enough for your family to ruin everyone I ever cared about? Now you want to take her too?!”

Louisa shook her head, trembling. “It wasn’t me… She ran out in front of the car—”

Stephen didn’t care. He clutched Louise close and climbed into the car that had just pulled up, eyes burning. “Take her to the hospital. Make her kneel outside the ER until she’s paid for what she’s done!”

Two security guards grabbed Louisa and shoved her into another car.

At the hospital, Stephen stood at the end of the hallway outside the emergency room, tension radiating off him. He looked like he could snap at any second.

Louisa was forced to her knees on the freezing tiled floor. Her knees throbbed, but she didn’t dare move.

“If anything happens to her, Louisa, you’ll pay for it with your life.” Stephen’s voice was so cold it hurt, every word hitting her like a slap.
