She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 110

Once you set foot in the black market, unpredictability ruled the day. There were too many variables, and some things were simply beyond her control.

Compared to Liana’s frantic energy, Jocelyn was a portrait of composure. She did her best to steady her nerves, reminding herself over and over that she couldn’t afford to act impulsively—not when her daughter’s life was at stake.

Following Sabrina’s instructions to the letter, Jocelyn stationed everyone she could trust along the chosen stretch of road, hidden and waiting. All they could do now was seize the right moment. Any attempt to force the issue would put Yvette in danger, so they opted for a more roundabout approach.

Samuel’s right-hand man, Burt, sat next to Sabrina in the car.

“Ms. Sutton, let me handle the negotiations,” Burt said quietly.

Sabrina nodded. “Thank you.” She had never intended to negotiate herself—her face simply didn’t inspire the kind of trust they needed. Burt, on the other hand, bore a certain resemblance to the people they were dealing with. They’d believe him.

The car crept forward. Up ahead, the police were conducting a routine DUI stop. Seven-Shot’s car slipped through without issue.

Twenty minutes later, at a bend in the road, Seven-Shot’s vehicle was suddenly forced to a halt.

“Damn it!” Seven-Shot spat. “What’s going on?”

The driver, just as bewildered, swerved and nearly plowed into the median. “Boss, looks like a few people from the car behind us just got out. Doesn’t look friendly.”

Seven-Shot was about to order the driver to step on it when a sharp knock sounded at the window. He lowered the glass, and a man’s face appeared.

“Seven-Shot, I come on behalf of the market’s owner. He wants to discuss a deal.”

Seven-Shot stiffened. This guy knew why he was here—knew he was selling product. The market’s owner?

He decided to play it safe. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he replied, feigning ignorance.

A flicker of menace crossed Burt’s eyes. “Seven-Shot, you’ve got some nerve ignoring Tiger.”

Tiger—the shadowy figure who ran the black market. No one had ever seen his face, but his reputation preceded him.
