Sabrina’s expression was calm and unreadable as she reminded Faye, her voice steady.
“The only reason I told you who your enemy is, is so you could live with clarity—not so you’d throw your life away.”
“If Cyrus finds out anything about Yvette, you know what’ll happen.”
Silent tears slid down Faye’s cheeks. She glanced at Yvette, sitting not far away, and tried to suppress her emotions. “So… are we just supposed to let them get away with it?”
Sabrina let out a cold laugh. “Why would we let them get away with it? I’m just saying—we let them breathe a little longer until you’re strong enough to fight back.”
She had no intention of forgiving a single one of her enemies.
When those people tore her life apart, did they ever think about showing her mercy?
Why should she offer them any kindness?
In this world, being soft only gives monsters permission to go further.
“So, what should we do next?” Faye’s mind was already following Sabrina’s lead, surrendering her own doubts.
“Wait.” That one word said everything. Now wasn’t the time for revenge.
Faye understood. The Harper family’s influence was something she could never shake—not to mention the wild unpredictability of Liana.
She hesitated, but curiosity got the better of her. “Can you tell me… how did you find all this out?”
Sabrina was the Sutton family’s daughter, only recently brought home. She’d grown up in the quiet countryside—how could she possibly know anyone from the Harper family?
And yet, she seemed to know everything about Faye—even her old name.
She knew about her tangled history with Cyrus.
Even Cyrus himself couldn’t find his own daughter, but somehow, Sabrina knew where she was.
It didn’t make sense. None of it did.
Sabrina’s eyes suddenly turned icy. The shift startled Faye, who froze as Sabrina’s cold voice cut through the air.
“Jocelyn, don’t ask questions you shouldn’t. My business is none of yours. All we need to do is keep our bargain.”
She called her Jocelyn.
A warning, clear as day.
