She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 157

Sabrina had never been fond of people who talked too much, but for once, Finley’s words struck just the right chord.

Once she got into college, all her enemies, all the people she hated—gone.

That would be a whole new life.

“Don’t worry about me. I’m not that fragile. A lie is still a lie, no matter how you dress it up. If I really cared about every stupid rumor, I’d have thrown myself off a building a hundred times over by now.” Sabrina finished with a small, wry smile tugging at her lips.

Seeing her so unbothered, Finley finally relaxed, turning back to her textbook.

Shawn had just entered the classroom when he caught sight of Sabrina’s faint smile. He felt a jolt of surprise.

How could she still manage to smile at a time like this?

The classroom was quiet—almost eerily so. Most students were hunched over their phones, whispering occasionally in small groups. Only the girl in the back row—Sabrina—and Finley, who sat in front of her, seemed genuinely focused on their books, tuning out everything else.

Shawn remembered the bet Sabrina had made with some kids from another class. With just days left before the monthly exams, was she trying to make a last-minute push? Cramming at the eleventh hour rarely worked out well.

A few rows ahead, Bruce glanced over his shoulder at Sabrina, nudging Neil beside him.

“How tough do you think she is? She doesn’t even look ashamed. She’s just sitting there reading.”

Neil shrugged, unimpressed. “You don’t get it. She’s just distracting herself.”

Bruce considered this for a moment. “Maybe. If it were me, I’d skip school altogether—find somewhere to hide until this all blew over.”

Neil lowered his voice. “Hey, those things online—people are talking like they really know what happened. Do you think any of it’s true?”
