She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 17

Sabrina’s presence took hold, her voice barely above a whisper—so low only the two of them could hear. Leaning close, she enunciated each word with deliberate care.

“I know you don’t believe me, but I’ll prove it to you. Besides, I have no reason to lie.”

Faye’s pupils contracted. She vividly recalled the video the kidnappers sent—the moment she saw her daughter stabbed, then tossed into the ocean. There was no mistaking what she’d witnessed.

How could this be happening?

A chilling sense of conspiracy settled over her, crawling over her skin like cold mist. Yet underneath the fear, a strange new hope began to take root. What if her daughter really hadn’t died?

She reached out, clutching Sabrina’s hand with desperate strength, her gaze burning with longing, silently begging for an answer. If her daughter was alive, she’d give anything—even her own life—without hesitation. She stared hard at the girl, searching her eyes for truth, her voice trembling as she spoke.

“Miss, if you know where my daughter is—please, tell me. I’ll keep my promise to you, whatever it takes.”

There was no question in her tone, only certainty. She didn’t even ask what Sabrina wanted in return. All she could think about was her daughter. Against all instinct, she wanted—needed—to believe.

Her voice grew urgent. “Please, I’m begging you—if you help me find her, I’ll give you five million more.”

Sabrina gently slipped her hand from Faye’s grasp and patted the back of her hand, her tone calm and measured.

“Don’t worry. We can’t rescue her yet. The time isn’t right. Trust me—she’s not in any danger.”

Faye’s frustration boiled over. “What are you playing at? First you say you have news, now you tell me to wait. How am I supposed to trust you when you keep dodging me?”

Faye’s mind raced, connecting the dots of Yvette’s kidnapping, piecing together every detail. Suddenly, a single possibility crystallized. In that instant, she understood who had made her daughter’s life—and her own—a living hell. It had to be that person. No one else would go so far just to see her suffer.

For Yvette, she would do anything.

Watching the woman in front of her, Sabrina felt a strange sense of déjà vu.

In a previous life, she’d met Yvette a handful of times, about a year before the kidnapping. Her own connection with Faye had been pure chance, all thanks to the Harper family.

But once they’d met, a swift bond formed between them—they simply clicked. Later, when Sabrina was in prison, she learned that Faye had arranged for her to have warm clothes and supplies brought in.

But everything had been taken from her.
