The conversation in the next room came through loud and clear on the phone.
Seated together in the adjacent study, Sabrina and Uliana listened in.
Sabrina tapped her fingers lightly on the desk, her tone calm. “See that? She used herself as bait to get what she wanted. And it worked.”
Uliana had finally recovered from her breakup. She’d spent the whole night turning things over in her mind, unable to sleep. But now, at least, she’d figured a few things out. The truth was, she’d been attracted to Marshall because he was impressive—charming, successful, good-looking. Who wouldn’t be drawn to someone like that at first glance? But in the end, character mattered more than anything. She should be grateful she’d seen his true colors before falling any deeper.
“What a shameless pair. Absolute trash, both of them,” Uliana muttered, though she knew exactly how serious this was. “Should I just send everything to Celine now? Let her deal with it?”
Sabrina raised a hand to stop her. “Wait until lunchtime. For now, just send a few photos of them together—let her figure out the rest. Hold onto the videos for now.”
At first, Uliana had felt guilty about betraying Celine. They’d been friends once, and this felt downright underhanded. But after learning what Celine had actually done, Uliana only wished she’d figured out her true nature sooner. Just to frame Sabrina, Celine hadn’t hesitated to drug everyone at the party. Thankfully, Uliana and Sabrina had come prepared, only eating and drinking the food they’d brought themselves. The lengths Celine had gone to—no, the sheer malice she’d shown—were staggering.
From that morning, Wanda, Tina…
“By the way, what did you have Wanda do?” Uliana suddenly remembered Wanda had spent the morning gossiping—and had ended up getting punched by Sabrina for it.
“I had her feed me information. Otherwise, how would I have known so quickly what their next move was going to be?”
Uliana’s eyes widened in realization. “So that’s why you installed the cameras in the room ahead of time.”
She shot Sabrina a thumbs-up. When it came to scheming, Celine was no match for Sabrina. But really, Celine had brought this on herself.
