Early the next morning.
Elena sent another video.
This time, she added a voice message.
"Celine, Marshall cheated on you. I can't believe it. And that sister of yours—Hester, the one who just came back? She’s a monster. She’s even going after her own sister’s fiancé."
"Don’t be upset, Celine. A jerk like him doesn’t deserve you."
Celine assumed Elena was sending her another one of those vague, overblown videos. She was about to ignore it, but as soon as she heard Elena’s voice messages, she opened the video in a hurry.
The footage was a montage from different times—spliced together, but clear enough: a man and a woman, from the hotel elevator to the door of a room, and then everything that happened inside. The entire scandalous scene was there.
Even with the most private parts blurred out, it was obvious just how wild things had gotten between the two.
In a rush of fury, Celine hurled her phone to the floor.
She hugged her head, unable or unwilling to believe what she’d just seen.
Hester had explained everything just yesterday—she said there was nothing going on with Marshall. Marshall had been quick to reply to texts, too. Last night, he’d even wished her goodnight.
How could they both betray her like this?
Celine was livid, nearly deranged with anger.
She swept her makeup off the vanity, sending bottles and compacts smashing to the floor, and then slammed her phone down again, as if destroying it could erase the maddening video from existence.
After venting, Celine silently picked up her phone from the floor.
She got dressed, put on a touch of makeup, and went downstairs for breakfast, acting as if nothing had happened.
After eating, she left for school as usual.
Sabrina watched her go, the corners of her mouth curling into a cold smile.
Now that was the real Celine.
She was a master at keeping things bottled up—waiting for the perfect moment to strike you where you least expect.
Hester was doomed. Sabrina would just sit back and enjoy the show.
At school.
