She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 241

Hester stormed around her room alone, venting her frustration by hurling anything within reach.

She’d always envied Celine—loved by both parents, protected by the Sutton family’s wealth and status. And what did Hester have? She spent her days tending to an irritable old woman, a grandmother who’d decided to hand the family shares over to that wretched girl.

And now, seeing Celine flaunt her relationship on Instagram, Hester finally snapped.

She and Marshall had already crossed that line, becoming intimately involved. He’d promised he would marry her. So how, in just a few short days, had Marshall become so distant? Was he really no different from those other men—eager until they got what they wanted, then ready to move on? No. She refused to believe it.

Every time she pictured Marshall and Celine together, jealousy consumed her. Only she—Hester—deserved a man as exceptional as Marshall.

Seafood for dinner, was it? Fine. She’d ruin their little date.

Forcing herself to calm down, Hester took a few shaky breaths, willing her emotions under control. Her hands still trembling, she dialed Marshall’s number.

He picked up quickly.

The moment the line connected, Hester put on her sweetest, most innocent tone. “Marshall, I baked some pastries for you. Are you still at the office? I can drop them off.”

There was a pause on the other end.

After a moment, Marshall replied, “Hester, I’m busy tonight. Maybe another time.”

The cold rejection felt like a punch to the gut.

Still, Hester tried to sound casual, even playful. “Alright, I won’t bother you then. Just remember to eat, okay?”

As soon as she hung up, Hester couldn’t contain herself any longer. She erupted, cursing Celine’s name.

Did Celine really think this was over? Not a chance.

Hester glanced down at the scar on her clenched fist, a reminder of how far she’d gone—and how much further she was willing to go.

She hadn’t given up. Not by a long shot.
