She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 247

Summer break drifted by in a haze of contentment.

Nearly every day, Sabrina would head over to Jocelyn’s place to visit Lennox and Yvette. Jenna was home for now as well, looking after the two kids. Each time Sabrina dropped by, the children clung to her, refusing to let her leave. She could only laugh and promise them she’d be back the next day, staying to play with them for a while before heading off again.

The rest of her time, Sabrina poured herself into work—splitting her focus between her investment firm and the Goldcrest District development.

Business was finally turning a profit. Victor Ward, as it turned out, was an absolute gem. In just two months, he’d steered the company into the black.

Sabrina dangled a dream in front of him, teasing, “If you keep this up, I’ll have to give you a raise one day.”

Victor’s face broke into such a wide grin that the lines around his eyes deepened. He waved his hands in protest, clearly flustered.

“You’ve already given me so much—I wouldn’t dare ask for more. This is all just what I should do. Without you, I’d probably be starving on the streets by now.”

Sabrina chuckled. “Without you, this company would never have turned a profit so quickly. Starting next month, you’ll get ten percent equity. Remember, you and I are partners in this. If anything ever comes up, don’t keep it from me.”

Victor stared at her, as if he’d misheard. Ten percent? That couldn’t be real. He’d only been with the company for three months, and now the boss was offering him a stake?

Was she an angel sent from above?

Once, when he’d been at his lowest, ready to jump off a bridge to escape his crushing debts, Sabrina had been the one who reached out a hand. She’d not only given him a second chance, but she’d also cleared his debts. He owed her everything.

He shook his head, refusing again. “No, I can’t accept that. You’ve done more than enough already. Thank you. I promise I’ll run this company well and never let you down.”

His response was just what Sabrina expected. Offering him equity was her way of binding him to her side. To take on the Harper family, she needed Victor. The last thing she wanted was for them to poach him before she could uproot their ambitions. If that happened, it would be a disaster.

She smiled, her tone gentle but firm. “You’ve earned it, Victor. Take it. You deserve it.”
