She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 281

Before leaving, Sabrina made her way to Octavia’s garden.

Inside, Hester was giving Octavia a shoulder massage.

As Sabrina stepped in, she overheard her grandmother say, “That’s enough, Hester. You don’t need to keep massaging me—your hand still isn’t fully healed. Go get some rest.”

But Hester didn’t stop. She kept working, her reply gentle and sweet. “I’m fine, really. My hand’s much better now. It just looks a bit scary, that’s all. Honestly, it’s my pleasure to take care of you, Grandma.”

Octavia couldn’t help but laugh, clearly amused by her.

She took comfort in the thought that Hester had changed so much after everything that had happened recently—a blessing in disguise, perhaps. At least, she hoped Hester was finally letting go of those old bad habits, making all her hard-won lessons worthwhile.

“Grandma!”

Sabrina’s voice broke the cozy moment between grandmother and granddaughter as she entered the room.

Octavia’s face lit up with the same warm affection. She beckoned for Sabrina to come sit beside her. “I’m heading off to Glenwood soon,” Sabrina said, lowering herself onto the couch. “Please take good care of yourself while I’m gone.”

This was the first time since coming back to the Sutton family that Sabrina was traveling so far—and she was going with Desmond.

Of course, her real reason for visiting Glenwood was to dig up information on the Watson family. She’d long suspected that the forces behind the trouble up north weren’t just local; there seemed to be foreign interests involved as well. The Watsons had their hands in plenty of businesses—maybe she could find some clue.

A few days ago, Bryce had picked up some rumors from Mouth: Yosef from the Lynn family was involved in human trafficking, some of it through overseas channels. Bryce had told her not to get involved, saying the Lynn family’s affairs ran deep. So she’d let Bryce handle it.

Octavia patted Sabrina’s hand, her voice cheerful and reassuring. “Think of it as a vacation. Take this chance to see more of the world, and when you come back, tell me all about Glenwood.”
