She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 56

Even the Linden family’s ancestors—eighteen generations back—weren’t spared from his furious tirade.

“Honey, calm down. Don’t let this get to you. I’ll talk to Uliana and try to get the full story. Please, focus on your work for now,” Wendy coaxed gently.

But her words did nothing to soothe Chance’s anger. If anything, it only made him more agitated.

“Have you seen what she’s done? Is she a college student or some street brawler? She comes home with nothing but bad habits, stirring up trouble wherever she goes! Is this how a daughter of the Linden family is supposed to act—making life difficult for others? Unbelievable. Just listen to the things she’s said!”

Chance was livid—so much so that he didn’t even care about using harsh words.

Wendy knew there was no reasoning with him when he was like this. She couldn’t bring herself to defend their daughter, not when Uliana really had gone too far this time. Still, she didn’t want to pass judgment before hearing the whole story.

Once she’d finally calmed her husband down, Wendy went upstairs to find Uliana.

She found her daughter in her room, wiping her face at the vanity.

“Uliana, did you get into a fight yesterday?” Wendy asked, her tone serious as she unlocked her phone. She pulled up the news and held out the screen.

There, splashed across the top, was a video of Uliana berating someone at Ogilly’s Steakhouse the afternoon before.

For a split second, Uliana’s mind went blank.

Yesterday afternoon, Sabrina had dumped a plate of leftovers all over her. In the chaos, Uliana had accidentally hurt someone else and ended up dragging her filthy self to the ER. Between the medical checks and the apologies, she hadn’t made it home until ten that night. By then, she’d been so exhausted and angry she’d scrubbed herself raw in the shower—three times—before finally collapsing into bed. She’d fallen asleep without even glancing at her phone.
