The two of them spent a good while discussing how to handle the situation, but in the end, they still hadn’t settled on a concrete plan.

They were both stewing over it when Wendy’s phone rang.

“Honey, how are things going at the office?” she asked.

“Mr. Foster’s decided to suppress the trending searches. Honestly, there’s not much else we can do right now—we’ll just have to go with it,” Chance replied, sounding utterly exhausted.

Wendy knew this wasn’t something they could afford to delay. She quickly shared her thoughts.

“This whole mess started with Celine. Both our family and the Fosters have taken a serious hit because of it. Celine’s too naive—she got used as someone else’s pawn.”

“But the Suttons? They’ve come out of this completely unscathed. If you think about it, this whole disaster boils down to their two daughters. We could shed some light on that.”

“How exactly?” Chance asked.

Wendy gave a small laugh. “I just found out that the girl fighting with Uliana in the video is the Suttons’ long-lost daughter—the one they just brought home. Uliana thought Celine was being bullied at home and jumped in to defend her. If we expose the Sutton family’s secret about their daughters, the whole internet will lose its mind over the real-vs-fake heiress drama.”

“Public attention will shift right away to the Sutton girls’ scandal, and both we and the Fosters will get to slip out of the line of fire.”

Chance’s gloomy face finally showed a hint of relief at his wife’s words.

He’d only just learned that the girl in the video was Sutton’s newly recovered daughter. He’d been about to call Desmond, but now it seemed unnecessary.

Just as Chance was about to call someone to put the plan into motion, his secretary sent him the security footage from Ogilly’s Steakhouse from the night before.

After watching it through, both he and Wendy finally felt a sense of ease they hadn’t known in days.

“Honey, I’ll contact Mr. Foster right now and have them leak the video and all the info we’ve uncovered. We’ll hire a few PR teams to steer the conversation online and make sure everyone’s focus is squarely on the Suttons. Even if a handful of people keep hounding us, it won’t amount to much.”

Feeling suddenly cheerful, Chance dialed the number without hesitation.
