Now that Sabrina seemed to only want an apology rather than a fight, the girls’ fear started to fade.

Ayla crossed her arms and laughed outright. “What a joke. I’ve never apologized for anything in my life.”

“She’s really got a high opinion of herself,” Lacy sneered. “We were just telling the truth. Can’t even speak honestly these days?”

“We’re not called the Petersburg Four for nothing,” Maya added, chin high. “If anyone should apologize, it’s you.”

“You grew up in that dump and you expect us to believe you turned out normal? Who knows what kind of filth you brought with you. Dirty little outcast.” Hannah’s voice dripped with contempt.

The four—Ayla, Lacy, Maya, and Hannah—mocked Sabrina without a hint of restraint.

“We’re not cowards like your lot,” Ayla said, loud enough for the whole class to hear.

Their laughter echoed around the room.

Even Hannah, emboldened by Sabrina’s silence, found her courage. She barked, “No apology. If you want to fight, fine, but don’t think our faces come cheap. You think you can just hit any of us?”

Ayla looked at Sabrina, smirking as if she was watching a circus act. “We’re not wrong, are we? If you can’t take the heat, maybe you shouldn’t have done it.”

Sabrina’s cold stare swept over the group before she shifted her gaze to her own hands.

There was no point reasoning with people like this.

She reached out and grabbed a fistful of Ayla’s hair, yanking her head down and slamming it against the desk.

The move was swift and merciless—just like when she’d dealt with the boys earlier.

Sabrina didn’t believe in going easy just because they were girls.

A piercing scream tore through the classroom.

Furious, Lacy raised her hand to strike. “Are you out of your damn mind? You dare lay a hand on us—”
