Chapter 1019
No one knew what was said on the other end of the call, but Richard’s expression changed instantly.
His head snapped toward Sharon, eyes sharp as blades, cold enough to freeze the air.
“You’re live streaming?”
The words struck like a thunderclap. Everyone in the room went pale.
If the evidence and recordings just now had been broadcast live-then all of it, every shameful word they’d said -was now public.
The memory of those vile remarks still hung fresh in their minds, and none felt it more keenly than Jamie.
Every gaze turned toward Sharon-cold, furious, and filled with loathing.
Wendy instinctively stepped forward to take the blame, but Sharon caught her hand and smoothly took the phone from her. She glanced at the screen, eyebrows lifting in mild surprise.
“Oh? The live stream didn’t end? My apologies, perhaps the phone lagged and didn’t shut off properly.”
Rick’s face darkened with rage. He stormed toward her, voice rising.
“Sharon, why were you streaming? What are you trying to do-destroy our family?”
Before he could reach her, Thomas stepped between them, his tone light but edged with mockery.
“Rick, if you have something to say, use your words. Charging at Sharon like this-what are you planning to do?”
His eyes glinted with amusement. “Anyone walking in might think you were about to get violent. Sharon just accidentally left the stream on. Is that really worth looking like you’re ready to kill her?
“If your conscience is clear, why the panic? You all seemed perfectly righteous a moment ago. What changed? Or did you finally realize just how disgraceful your behavior was? Then again, people always get angriest when their true faces are exposed.”
Silas couldn’t hold back any longer. Pointing at Thomas, he snarled, “Say one more word, and I swear you won’t make it out of this room alive.”
Thomas curved his lips in a lazy smile. “Oh, how terrifying. The mighty Silas Kalen-submissive to those who hurt his sister, yet all fire and fury toward the one who stands by her. Who’s the coward here, I wonder?
