Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 418

Chapter 418

Sharon’s expression cooled. “And what if I say no?”

Carter replied calmly, “You’re Theo’s mother. I don’t want to force you, nor do I wish to make things ugly.”

Sharon let out a laugh, her tone laced with disbelief. “Is that a threat? You admit I’m Theo’s mother, yet you still expect me to work for Kelly-as her personal composer? For your mistress?”

“I’ve said it before. There’s nothing between Kelly and me. She’s not my mistress.”

Was that really the point?

The issue wasn’t whether Kelly was his lover or not. The issue was that Sharon refused and had no desire to be Kelly’s exclusive

composer.

Furious, Sharon snorted.

“You gave her the opportunity that should’ve been mine. You want me to hand over my studio to her. 1

And now, you want me to work for her as a personal composer? Carter, you really have a talent for bleeding me dry, don’t you?”

Carter’s gaze remained dark and still. “I’ll give you time to think. Give me an answer when you’re ready.”

Sharon didn’t hesitate. “No need. My answer is no.”

He stared at her in silence, eyes cool and unreadable, yet somehow unsettling.

After a long pause, he finally spoke again. “If you agree now, the terms are yours to name. Next time we talk… it might not be so

generous.”

Sharon gave a soft, disdainful laugh, her refusal more than clear.

Seeing this, Carter said nothing more. He turned and walked away.

She stood motionless, her expression blank as she watched him leave.

Let her work under Kelly for three years? Spend every day watching them flaunt their affection?

If that were the case, what had been the point of the divorce?

And on top of that, she’d have to tolerate Kelly’s endless demands and arrangements?

She would have to be out of her mind to agree to such terms.

After leaving Sharon’s studio, Carter suddenly asked, “That was the same studio Nate trashed, wasn’t it?”

He hadn’t forgotten the chaos in that room-the destroyed instruments, the vandalized walls.

Simon was caught slightly off guard by the question, then quickly nodded. “Yes, and also the studio Kelly wants.”

Ever since Kelly returned to the country, she always had something going on.

Simon was either busy dealing with her affairs or on his way to report them.

Meanwhile, Sharon, Carter’s wife at the time, barely made any requests at all. Even when she did need something, she usually contacted Simon directly for help.

In the beginning, Simon would report everything back to Carter. But as time went on-and as her requests remained minimal

and reasonable-Carter eventually told him not to bother reporting at all.

Whether that was because he didn’t see Sharon as an outsider and trusted her too much,

or because he simply didn’t care at all… was anyone’s guess.

This sudden question caught Simon so off guard that he paused for a moment.

Carter pressed his lips together, silent once more.

He only knew that Kelly had finally found a studio she really liked, and by sheer coincidence, it happened to be Sharon’s.

The compensation he’d offered Sharon had already been quite generous. But for John, two million wasn’t much. 1

After all, with the upcoming music festival, that amount was insignificant in comparison.

Originally, Carter had planned to offer five million in compensation. No matter what, Sharon had been his wife and was the mother of his child. He wasn’t stingy to that extent.

As long as Sharon had shown even the slightest willingness to compromise, money wouldn’t have been an issue.

But unfortunately, she was far too stubborn to bend
