Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 419

Chapter 419

The negotiation between Carter and Sharon had ended in bitter silence.

After that, with Sharon uncovering what had happened with Maestro Warner, the possibility of a proper negotiation between them essentially vanished.

And now-

The revelation that Star was Sharon.

Not just Carter-even Simon found himself at a loss.

As he drove, Simon broke the silence.

“Since Sharon is Star, I doubt she’ll agree to compose for Kelly. Should we consider finding someone else?”

Carter’s lips parted slightly. “Star…”

He repeated the name under his breath, his dark eyes unfathomable, lost in thoughts unknown even to himself.

Simon waited for a response. But the silence stretched too long. He tried again.

“Mr. Biggs, shall we start looking for another composer for Kelly?”

Carter finally came back to himself.

“No need,” he said, his voice calm and certain. “She’ll agree.”

The next morning, Sharon had just dropped Matty off at kindergarten when her phone rang. It was Wendy.

“Sharon, have you seen the news? John’s trending right now!”

Sharon was still behind the wheel and hadn’t had the chance to check anything.

“What happened to John?” she asked.

“Someone’s leaked dirt on him. I’m trying to handle it with emergency PR, but it’s not working. The other side seems to have what they’re calling ‘hard evidence.”” Wendy’s voice was tight with urgency. “Feels like they’re waiting for the buzz to peak before releasing the worst of it.”

John had recently risen to fame beyond the music world. With his striking looks and extraordinary talent, he had gained a

massive female fan base.

While not quite an A-list celebrity, he was easily on par with any top-tier name in the entertainment industry.

“Where is he now?” Sharon asked.

“I told him to stay inside the apartment. He’s canceled all appearances today.”

Sharon turned the wheel. “I’ll head over and take a look.”

By the time she arrived at the building, a crowd had already gathered outside.

Low voices buzzed through the air.

“I heard John knocked up some woman and ran off. Didn’t even want to take responsibility.”

“Yeah, apparently the woman’s been mentally unstable ever since. Her parents ran into him the other day, and now they’ve

come knocking.”

Sharon followed the collective gaze toward the center of the crowd.

Amiddle-aged couple had John by the collar, faces contorted with fury.

Behind them stood a young woman in her twenties, cradling a child who looked to be around three or four. She glanced at John timidly.

“Honey,” she said softly, “Look at our child. Just once.’

John pushed her away without emotion. “That child’s not mine. You’ve got the wrong man.”

At that, the older woman snapped.

“You monster!” she screamed. “If you hadn’t assaulted my daughter back then, how would she have gotten pregnant?! You promised to marry her. That’s the only reason we didn’t report you!

“And now you want to turn your back and pretend none of it happened? No way. Either you give us an explanation today, or I’ll make sure the whole world knows what kind of beast you really are!”

She turned to the crowd, tears streaming down her face as she howled, “Everyone, look! This is John Westin, the guy who took advantage of my daughter, talked her out of going to the police, left her pregnant, and ran off without a word!

“Take his picture! Post it online! Let every girl out there see what kind of predator he is, so no one else gets fooled like my daughter did!”
